H-Pylori

Posted by midnightstar1001 @midnightstar1001, Nov 2, 2024

Hello, My name is Jessica and I have a had a horrible stomach infection which is called H-Pylori and since then can't eat certain foods will made me very ill vomiting, diarrhea and nausea and that was the very beginning of that horrible stomach infection. It has been very stressful these past 8 months of dealing with this stomach infection. I have completed the course of very strong antibiotics and being tested for everything having an empty study done on my stomach to a colonoscopy and scope and waiting for my second study to be done on my stomach but at this point I am done with wanting to be tested but I know if I don't it might not help with not having the answers I need. I have talked to my GI doctor about still having trouble eating after having H-Pylori and have been recently tested again which came up positive but then when I did my scope it was negative so also very confused on that part. I am now at the point I can't eat normal food which is basically anything that's not gluten free or sensitive to my stomach which is starting to be anything really, I can't eat which is very stressful because I want my life back before having H-Pylori! I am wondering as now been diagnosed with gastritis is the reason I cannot eat anymore or is there other reasons you may think as to why typical foods are bothering me? I am ready to have my life back and not always sensitive to what I eat as my GI doc told me I should've been able to eat normally again and can't life just suck's! If anyone could give me some input, I would be highly grateful as now when I eat foods, it just makes me feel ill for days as I don't throw up anymore, but I do feel like I have to most of the time with not eating or eating very little foods. I just want to know why I can't eat anymore and what's actually going on with me as I am mentally drained at this point and ready for my answers. Thank you, Jess

Hello Jessica,
I had H-Pylori many years ago. I was sick for months and down to 90lbs before diagnosed with E-Coli from infected water. After all the antibiotic's I was told that you can still test positive for H-Pylori.
I took me a couple of years to fully recover. I mainly ate can pea and carrots with steamed jasmine rice and yogurt with probiotics to get my "good bacteria" back.
I also found the Camomile and peppermint tea was great for calming my gut and nausea.
Have they tested for E-Coli too?

Update! (I don't know how to update on my original post) ... I went to the hospital last week and found out what's actually going on with me. I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind words and comments to my post, Anyways I went to the hospital with dizziness and feeling like I was going to pass out I also had very strong nausea to the point I couldn't eat. I knew something wasn't right when I fell over on my husband while standing and told him to take me to the hospital and he did thankfully. When I arrived at the hospital they ran some test on me and I had an MRI done and immediately they found out I have a non-cancerous tumor in my stomach which is a fibroid that they have said that has grown into my stomach and is very large in size & the ER doctor has recommended I need surgery so I am going to an appt next week to talk about surgery with my doctor. I am glad I finally have the answers I needed but not happy it has taken this long to find out. I am very thankful for the ER doc and hospital staff did their job to help me in every-way possible! I am hoping after surgery I can have my life back with eating and feeling much better in general. I just wanted to update you all that took the time to comment. Thank you very much! Jessica

Glad you have your life back morningstar!. I had H pylori as well and did the antibiotic treatment. The follow up test said I was free and clear of H pylori but the symptoms persist. Often feeling sick, nausea and diarrhea. I've had a colonoscopy and nothing showed up. Its been a year now and still no improvement. On my way back to my doctor next week. Hoping for some improvements. Anyone with insight(s) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had e.coli and h pylori years ago from bad water. I too lost a lot of weight and fatigue was terrible. It took me 3 years to get over.
I would suggest that you get the best pre and probiotics possible and try a diet to get your gut back to normal.

@ozzy3406
Wow. Your case is very similar to mine. I was diagnosed with H Pylori back in 2015-2016 , took the treatment and forgot about it until this past week. For the past month I have been having soft stool/diarrhea which has the same bad smell. Must be a bacterial infection in my gut/intestines. And now I remember I was diagnosed with H Pylori in 2016. Wonder if there is a correlation?
Anyway , I am so sorry that you are having this issue. I can only imagine. I will say a prayer for you Ozzy. Try to stay positive.
