H-Pylori
Hello, My name is Jessica and I have a had a horrible stomach infection which is called H-Pylori and since then can't eat certain foods will made me very ill vomiting, diarrhea and nausea and that was the very beginning of that horrible stomach infection. It has been very stressful these past 8 months of dealing with this stomach infection. I have completed the course of very strong antibiotics and being tested for everything having an empty study done on my stomach to a colonoscopy and scope and waiting for my second study to be done on my stomach but at this point I am done with wanting to be tested but I know if I don't it might not help with not having the answers I need. I have talked to my GI doctor about still having trouble eating after having H-Pylori and have been recently tested again which came up positive but then when I did my scope it was negative so also very confused on that part. I am now at the point I can't eat normal food which is basically anything that's not gluten free or sensitive to my stomach which is starting to be anything really, I can't eat which is very stressful because I want my life back before having H-Pylori! I am wondering as now been diagnosed with gastritis is the reason I cannot eat anymore or is there other reasons you may think as to why typical foods are bothering me? I am ready to have my life back and not always sensitive to what I eat as my GI doc told me I should've been able to eat normally again and can't life just suck's! If anyone could give me some input, I would be highly grateful as now when I eat foods, it just makes me feel ill for days as I don't throw up anymore, but I do feel like I have to most of the time with not eating or eating very little foods. I just want to know why I can't eat anymore and what's actually going on with me as I am mentally drained at this point and ready for my answers. Thank you, Jess

I'm sorry you are suffering so much. Have you been tested for gluten intolerance? My daughter suffered for years before she found a doctor that did a thorough testing regime and found that she was intolerant to gluten...she is doing well now after going gluten free.
Thank you for your kind words, I have not been tested for that and maybe I do need to be tested or my next empty study is going to reveal that. I am not really sure but thank you for the insight on that I will look into that as well.

Hello, I have been trying to take it easy on eating so haven’t been trying to go overboard with it. It’s been a very hard experience with wanting to eat and lately it has been most foods that I would be okay with eating that now upset my belly for days on end. I don’t know what’s going on and would like to have some answers. I will look into the link you sent me and scroll through. Thank you very much.
Please continue to post as you have questions and concerns. As you look through the posts in the link I provided, feel free to respond to any posts by clicking on the "Reply" box below the post and then ask questions or post your own questions in the discussion group.
I look forward hearing from you again.
I had h pylori and did not have any of the gastric symptoms you have. I assume the negative test done with the scope (biopsy) is more accurate than a breath test. So it seems that your symptoms may be from something else. Check out the various suggestions.
I had H pylori too with no symptoms. Keep a food journal and eliminate foods that cause you problems. Get rid of fried foods and acidic and see if that helps.Drink plenty of water. No booze or smokes.
Thank you for responding back to my post with your experience I do appreciate that. I had another test done before my scope then had my scope and I was diagnosed with not having H-Pylori and I agree that I rather agree with the scope results than another test. I am going to go over all my options to figure out what's actually going on with me as not sure what else could be making me feel ill still.
Jess, I've never been diagnosed h. pylori. I'm waiting for food digestion test. To confirm 2019's diagnose w Gastroparesis. Means; slow digestion. I fasted & ate salad 2 weeks to introduce other foods. No food allergies. Tested negative. Drs had me on high fiber, low fiber, high protein, to fresh fruit & vegetables.
Now, I'm eating can fruits & canned veggies. Minus corn & rice. No eggs - 2 Boost 30mg protein, & earth foods. Sweet potatoes, squash, peeled potatoes. That is horrible what you're going through. After my gall bladder out (cholecystectomy), i had diarrhea 4 y's. Dr stopped it aggressively w med rx. It stopped alright! 12/12/23 - today, I've no life either. The world revolves around me & my digestion issues. All I can think is please help me resolve. Hope this will help you. & Ondansetron rx has been esp effective w my nausea. Combat that right away!!
Jess, I’m just today starting a treatment for h pylori. I have been treated for this several times over the years. I have no appetite, nausea and diarrhea. But the symptoms you describe are really bad.
I am sorry you are going thru this, but it sounds like you need more tests, or maybe a second opinion? I have had stomach problems for years, since taking Excedrin for years for migraines before being diagnosed with it. There was no good treatments back in 1970 for migraines.
But I have gerd now and a hiatal hernia and get h pylori every few years. I sure hope you find your answers soon. It’s hard I know when you can’t eat. And yes, take the nausea meds.
