Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

I’d like to know what you think about chlorella. I am thinking of taking it to detox heavy metals as well as any other benefits it may provide. I trust your opinion over most doctors. Much much appreciated. What may be the side effects ?

I haven't noticed any of the side effects listed on the internet for chlorella. It is reported to work as a heavy metal detox like cilantro. I take pills, very easy and perhaps it can help with additional heavy metals which enter my body. I stopped the daily cilantro smoothies about 15 months ago. As you know I'm still in remission from GD.

Thanks for you input. Am glad you are still in remission. I still take the smoothies as I still have minor itching, plus I think they must be good for you. I will think seriously about the chlorella. Do you mind sharing your first name ? Mine is Jon. Just seems a bit less impersonal. Glad you are doing well. Regards.

I really need to try cilantro smoothies as I’ve seen so many shared stories. Just can’t get motivated but if it truly helps the itching without steroids will be worth the effort. As I write this I have an eruption on inside of my wrist. They pop up all over without notice.

I have experienced incredible relief from cilantro smoothies. Using a blender, I mix up 2 weeks supply, divide up the liquid and freeze the mixture in silicone ice cube trays. So easy to remove one cube a day, thaw and drink. Couldn't be easier and assures that you have no excuse to ever miss a day !!!!!! It took about 6 weeks to get real relief........happened slowly but surely. Cilantro and prayer.....a wonderful solution !!!!

@sealover101, how much cilantro do you use for a 2-week supply? If you reply in bunches, I'd appreciate your mentioning the diameter of the stems of the bunch, in case bunches here tend to be bigger or smaller than where you are.

If you get 6 bunches of cilantro that should be enough for 2 weeks. I get mine from Whole Foods. I cut most of the stems off to about 3 inches left just for smoothness. There is no exact amount. Take half a bunch, add a little water to get blender going, pulse and mix. Then add 1/2 container Greek yogurt, I use Chobani...fruit..5.3 ounces. Let blender mix until smooth and pour into silicone ice cube trays ( larger than old fashioned trays) and freeze. I see that others add more ingredients, which is good; but my purpose is really just to get the cilantro into my system. Basic but serves the purpose. If I can do it, anybody can. Surely beats out the hundreds $$$ of dollars spent on prescriptions, and Dr. appointments. Actually at my last dermatologist appointment, I told the Dr. about the Mayo site and cilantro. He listened and wrote it down and said he was going to share with a patient who has found no relief from everything he has tried. That's a big admission !!!!! Cilantro offers hope and is good for you, too .Try it and see what can be achieved.

It sounds like you have mild symptom's with GD. For most of us, including me the itching was intense along with constant pain, especially if any pressure is on the symptomatic area . Like you my sister has GD without intense symptom's and can't be bothered with the cilantro smoothies. She only gets it under her breasts, it's more like heat rash. It's unusual for GD to be on ones wrists. That would be typical of Allergic Contact Dermatitis, ACD which I have besides GD.
I have metal allergies and wonder if you are wearing a watch or bracelet. Also soap or detergent can get trapped under a watch or bracelet. Sometimes pressure is a trigger not only for GD but for other forms of eczema

I'm really happy to hear that cilantro helped you. For those of us that it did help we are so lucky and without this site I would have never learned about it. Certainly no dermatologist and believe me I've seen plenty ever recommended it. Cleaver idea about freezing the mixed up smoothie. I did learn to freeze the fresh cilantro.
