Eliquis side effects

Posted by betyna @betyna, Apr 20, 2023

3 months ago I had a blood clot removed from my Mesenteric artery.
I have been on eliquis 3 months, I am having leg pain, weakness, and I am fatigued. Do all blood thinners make people tired and weak?

I take so many meds a day anymore hard to know what affects what .... been on Eliquis since 8-2022 after a stroke I was on Plavix for years then the Dr. never noticed that it had stopped working and caused me to have a stroke.

I also had a stroke but only took Eliquis after that as I suffered post surgical blood clots prior to the stroke. Plavix was only given to me for a month post strike as the surgeon had inserted a stent into my R carotid artery during the clot retrieval from my brain. I too take so many pills mainly for blood pressure control. Eliquis is a life saving drug but as all drugs side effects happen. My main complaint is a bowel issue but I don’t know if the problem is caused by that drug or one of the 9 others!!

Those on Eliquis are discouraged from taking NSAIDs such as ibuprofen due to their anti-clotting properties. I wonder if that applies to topicals such as Diclofenac. My non-medical guess is that less of the topical enters the bloodstream, thus reducing the risk of bleeding elsewhere. Anybody have any real knowledge? My knee is really barking! Thanks.
