Good morning, Tom. Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect and thanks for bringing up the very vexing problem of Non-ischemic Cardiomyopathy. I hope we can assemble a group for a penetrating discussion of this subject. It's vexing, I think, because it arises from so many possibilities, starting with genetic inheritance and climaxing in a range of cardiac symptoms. Could you share with us your type of heart failure to get us focused on your immediate concern?
Here's a link to a helpful article from the National Institutes of Health http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3008356/. It emphasizes the importance of thorough diagnosis by doctors and of MRI imagery in homing-in on a patient's unique problem. Have you had an MRI of your condition?

I think your question about HGH (human growth hormone) is best answered by doctors who specialize in the use of HGH. According to WebMD, "prescription HGH is always given by injection. Taken orally, HGH is digested by the stomach before it can be absorbed into the body." Here's a link to the WebMD article: http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/human-growth-hormone-hgh. This article includes information on FDA limitations on HGH prescriptions, side-effects recorded from HGH, and approved uses of HGH for both children and adults. Will you have the opportunity to discuss HGH with your doctor?

I haven't either Cynaburst. Isn't HGH like Estrogen? From what I read on that HGH Article it doesn't look for safe for someone with Cardiomyopathy with the risk for Edema, that could possibly increase the risk of Heart Failure I'd think. 🙁 And if it's like Estrogen I think they warned ppl with Heart Conditions before in other articles not to use it. I could be wrong though. My memory is bad so I don't remember clearly what I read. It was a long time ago.
