I do have IBS I see a gastroenterologist and he has put me on fiber twice a day plus some medication. (That you need to talk to your doctor about). So far my sytoms have gotten better.

I had same problem. They really push fiber supplements which never helped me. I do try to avoid wheat products and dairy. It helps.. But IBS is malfunction of nerves in colon causing pain, nausea, general feeling of illness. Doctors don't really know root cause. I do take ginger, and. Coconut oil (organic) as well as gas pills. Helps me a lot. Also I have rectocel from childbirth. This forms week area that catches stool and makes it difficult . I think the gas pills and coconut oil is making stool soft and passes easier. Get fiber from Cascadian Nut and fruit grain cereal daily. Lots of good natural fiber.

Very common for tear or weak area in tissue between vagina and rectum. It creates a pouch area and stool can't pass normally. Try pressing around area and see if that helps stool to come out ,more easily. Did not learn this from Dr. But other women

Thanks for the tip. I have noticed if I push around a certain way, it does seem to help.

Thank I appreciate your thoughtful indepth comment. I did know myself until I moved to MD and saw a doctor about my uncrontrolled movements every morning. He put me on amediaphen and other fiber Metamucil. It seems to be controlling this problem. And most importantly she is listening. .

I would like to know if anyone experiences IBS like I do. I either go or don't go to the bathroom. When I do, it usually feels incomplete. Once I start walking around, I often feel the urge to go again. It feels like there's a huge ball pressing down in my rectal area, like pressure, like my rectum is "open". My doctor has me on daily Benefiber to soften stools. I often take Tylenol for pain relief in hopes of shrinking my tissues. Does anyone have any ideas on how to rid myself of this?

Yes I have growths in bile ducts aka PBS my stools were very stiff and felt bloated, fiber actually iritates intestines ask your doctor to see if your magnesium deficent! I have pills and oil subdermal I take it like 2 times a week also calms anxiety helps in absorption of calcium and soften stools I feel much better I got it on Amazon . Take at night has a drowsy effect also helps skin and heart ,connective tissue ligaments cartilage , I got Doctors Best high absorption 100% chelated Magnesium take 2-200 mg at night before bed found some labs I was magnesium low ! The oil has a tingle to your skin goes away fast By Austra topical grade 100 percent pure good luck ,I know it is a horrible feeling feel better!D ps I prefer the pills

I have ibs and slow-transit constipation. Ive been having one flare after another of ibs. My face has been red a alot past few days. Im just wondering if theres a connection. Not sleeping good, have some hot/cold and chills. My dr. gave me an antispasmodic, and my stomach quieted down a few hours. Its back, especially if i eat. Im really not sure what to do. Im not sure if its something to be seen for.I dont have any "serious" symptoms as they would say. I just cant eat...having pain, cramping, bloating, gas, burping, a little diarrhea and also constipation. Its been a month now and its hard to function at my normal.

Hi @januaryjane, sorry to hear you are having multiple flare ups of IBS. Is the red face more of a flushing feeling where you feel like you are getting hot and your face turns red or is it more of a constant splotchiness to the face that just hasn't gone away?

@januaryjane- I have a couple of thoughts. With the recent cramps, bloating and diarrhea you could have SIBO Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Many of us with IBS experience this. There is certain meds for this - Xifaxan for example. When I get it bad I feel pretty sick. With the facial redness you could have celiac disease- you may have been tested already. Food allergies can give you very similar symptoms. I think this is serious enough to discuss with your doctor. It has a negative impact on your life. Maybe you could have a tele visit?
