So much I don't know...or don't understand about IBS. I am grateful for all the information I can get. My stomach feels sore/achy for long periods of time and then suddenly, just gets better and goes away. Sometimes I can go for months where I can eat just about any type of food I want with no problem, and then - suddenly it changes and I have to be so careful about every little. I am always searching for advice and answers! Thank you.

I would like to know if anyone experiences IBS like I do. I either go or don't go to the bathroom. When I do, it usually feels incomplete. Once I start walking around, I often feel the urge to go again. It feels like there's a huge ball pressing down in my rectal area, like pressure, like my rectum is "open". My doctor has me on daily Benefiber to soften stools. I often take Tylenol for pain relief in hopes of shrinking my tissues. Does anyone have any ideas on how to rid myself of this?

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I certainly still need to keep reading about this feeling of not eliminating and pain associated with it.

I do have IBS I see a gastroenterologist and he has put me on fiber twice a day plus some medication. (That you need to talk to your doctor about). So far my sytoms have gotten better.
I dont know why he seems reluctant to prescribe anything. He tells me sometimes meds cause other problems. He seems to feel benefiber and avoiding certain foods will help.

I had same problem. They really push fiber supplements which never helped me. I do try to avoid wheat products and dairy. It helps.. But IBS is malfunction of nerves in colon causing pain, nausea, general feeling of illness. Doctors don't really know root cause. I do take ginger, and. Coconut oil (organic) as well as gas pills. Helps me a lot. Also I have rectocel from childbirth. This forms week area that catches stool and makes it difficult . I think the gas pills and coconut oil is making stool soft and passes easier. Get fiber from Cascadian Nut and fruit grain cereal daily. Lots of good natural fiber.

Really appreciate you saying that about childbirth. Apparently, my pelvic floor is lower, covering the bowel area, adding to all this. I assume that is what you mean.

Very common for tear or weak area in tissue between vagina and rectum. It creates a pouch area and stool can't pass normally. Try pressing around area and see if that helps stool to come out ,more easily. Did not learn this from Dr. But other women

Thank I appreciate your thoughtful indepth comment. I did know myself until I moved to MD and saw a doctor about my uncrontrolled movements every morning. He put me on amediaphen and other fiber Metamucil. It seems to be controlling this problem. And most importantly she is listening. .

Thanks for the tip. I have noticed if I push around a certain way, it does seem to help.
