Yeast infection not going away

Posted by januaryjane @januaryjane, Jul 19 11:13pm

This year I've been treated for 5 yeast infections. Just finished my last round of 14 day Diflucan. Going back this week as it is not gone.
The gyno has cultured it and it came back as the most common type, albicans.
Got tested for mycoplasma and ureaplasma, negative.
Negative stds and diabetes or high blood sugar.
Finally got prescribed Brexafemme, a different drug. My insurance initially denied it then approved it only to find out it's not even being sold on the market right now.
This last round of Diflucan ruined my gut and Im not sure why Im even going back to the doctor if they have nothing for me...
Culture it again?.....ok..I guess..

I've been taking probiotics and boric acid suppositories. Just bought probiotic suppositories to try. Done the monostat, the creams, the diet. No partner, keep dry, free and clear detergent, no douching, sanitize washing machine regularly.

NO IDEA.

Nothing seems to work. Im just so miserable.
Never had this happen.

Anyone with resistant yeast infections?

Have you ever gone to a Functional Medicine Doctor? It's possible estradiol vaginal cream might be able to help you, depending on your hormone levels, which should be checked in a blood draw. The estradiol vaginal cream really helped me when I was having a similar type of issue that you are describing. You may want to Google this type of doctor. They are regular MDs, but with a broader perspective.

Good morning. My daughter suffered with this for years. Same sceniaro. Doctors gave her all of the same medications you were given and she tried all of the holistic things you mentioned, including the diet. I convinced her to see my acupuncutrist. He told her that recurrent yeast is an immune system issue. She has been seeing him for the past 9 months and no yeast infection. I know how frustrating and upsetting this can be. I'm not sure how you feel about acupuncture, but it has helped her tremendously. I also go for vertigo and have had great results. Good luck on your journey and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I had recurrent yeast infections when I was on vaginal estrogen. I’m not sure if you’re using hrt or not? But once I stopped it, they disappeared. I also occasionally take a yeast buster tincture from Sprouts (works fabulously!!). I also sip lemon 🍋 water when I don’t feel right down there. I also take 4 probiotics a day. And if things get really off down there…I take about a teaspoon of chopped garlic and mix it with Manuka Honey (very high number) and swallow it whole (meaning don’t chew the crushed garlic.). This last step works every time!! My new mantra: “Let Food Be Thy Medicine.” I also bought these spray probiotics on Amazon…as I’m also a staph carrier and am resistant to many antibiotics and probably some yeast strains…anyway, this spray probiotics really helps and I sometimes use mupiricin ointment in my nose (or sometimes I use manuka honey in nose.). Works like a charm!!! I also wash with probiotic soap and try and eat nonfat Greek yogurt with organic blueberries and drink cranberry juice (no sugar), which helps too!! Also, boost your immune system with arugula, walnuts, salmon, berries…. And make sure your liver and gallbladder are working extra well…. Also check electrolytes, Vit D levels, b12, hope this helps!!!
