Withdrawal due to discontinuing microdose of metoprolol
I am 25 and I have arterial hypertension.
I've been taking Lisinopril 10 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg + metoprolol 12.5 mg once daily for 7-8 years.
I've been questioning my metoprolol prescription for a long time and the only reason I was prescribed it was because I was nervous during a visit to a "doctor" and my heart was racing.
Now my heart rate is 45-50 BPM on metoprolol and my cardiologist gave me go ahead to try to quit it but once did it my resting heart rate has been 80-110 BPM. I got back on it again.
What is that? A withdrawal? Such laughable dose isn't supposed to have any therapeutic effect at all.
How do I taper off when I already take a quarter of a pill?
