Why isn’t intermittent fasting working for me after 2 months?

Posted by reillyg1013 @reillyg1013, Sep 20, 2023

I have been doing intermittent fasting for over 2 months and have gained weight. I should preface this by stating that it always worked for me until I got Covid. I gained 10 lbs in the space of 6 weeks, maybe less time, but I didn’t even realize until I had a doctor appointment & got weighed. I started with 16/8 and when that didn’t work I changed to 18/6. Still no luck. As I always did, I followed WW during my eating time, never did a pig out. HELP

Have you read any of Dr Jason Fungs books? He recommends a way of eating when you’re not fasting. He has plenty big YouTube videos also.

@reillyg1013, I've been stuck at a weight or gained some a couple of times while doing intermittent fasting. What has helped me was doing a few days at 20/4 to give me a kick start. Another problem could be what you are eating. I did many years of WW and having my weight go up and down. Intermittent fasting along with low carb healthy fat eating is what really turned things around for me. This is one of the videos that helped me.

Thank you so much for the video link, I will watch this evening. I just ordered the book “Eat to beat your diet” by Dr William Li, whom I listened to on a podcast yesterday. Hoping with all this information I can start to lose something!
