Why am I so tired, especially on the days I take my MAC meds?

I'm tired all the time. It's worse on the days when I take my MAC meds. Does anyone know why and what I can do about this.

What is your daily exercise routine? Walking even a little bit seems to help. Do you take any supplements like vitamin D? Have you had your B vitamin levels checked or iron? I see a holistic/integrative Dr along with a pulmanologist. All of these can affect energy levels. I am a petite person and I've found eating smaller amounts of nutritious foods 4-6 times a day (like every 3-4 hours helps with a lot of things. Keep posting. I am newly diagnosed

I'm small myself. Only 4ft 7in. I have asthma and COPD as well as MAC. I have a smart watch which tells me to walk every hour. At least 12 times a day. I get so out of breath it's hard to go out and do the things I use to do.

Many of us have had this experience.
Here are a few reasons you may feel tired:
Your body is fighting a serious infection.
You have two or maybe 3 lung diseases which deprive your body of necessary oxygen, not only when you move around, but all the time.
You are hitting your already stressed body 3 times a week with powerful antibiotics.

Here are a few things you can try - intentional deep breathing when you are sitting to get more oxygen. Airway clearance to get the mucus out of your lungs (more room for air). If all else fails maybe ask for supplemental oxygen.
How long have you taken the antibiotics?

I'm really sorry. Love my Fitbit watch!! I can only imagine how hard it is to get "walking" exercise. Could you do chair aerobics? I do know they make a walking exerciser that sits on the floor and you move feet back and forth. My mother in law got one when she was trying to gain back energy and strength after having Covid really bad - was hospitalized and didn't know if she was going to pull through.

Thank you. I'll look into that. Maybe the chair aerobics will help me. If I can do it. I get short of breath so fast when I try walking. I've had to go back to using my wheelchair when I go off.

Have you discussed the shortness of breath with your pulmonologist? Is it worse since starting the antibiotics?

Yes I've told my lung doctor about it and my infection specialist. It may be a little worse but it was bad already before I started the meds.

You might want to get a pulse oximeter so you can check your levels. https://oxiline.shop/collection/

What was their response? Do they have a respiratory therapist or tech regularly monitoring your lungs function? Do you do daily breathing exercises?
