What do you do when someone is in denial about their hearing loss?

I was reading on here about BFF and mates Refusing to get tested when their hearing is really bad - their frustration. Where are those posts?

My BTE hearing aid wax guard filters are stopping up too often Otolaryngologist & audiologist say I have no wax build up in my ears? The filter is stopped up with what looks like wax. I have to change the filters every 3 or 4 days. If it is not wax any ideas what might be stopping up my filters?

@tmckinnie Here are my thoughts. If the stuff is coming from the ears, it's probably dead skin. You may want to try using a very small amount of mineral oil or a product that @arieswoman recommended in a previous post. Maybe she'll chime in to mention what that is. How about environmental factors such as dust? Combined with humidity, and after time, these will build up even though we think the hearing aids keep particles out. Ear molds have vents so they are not barrier proof.

I use MiraCell ProEar drops for my ears. It sure helps me with the itching. It only takes a drop and lasts a long time. I would think it would help with dead skin. I also put a drop into my ears at bedtime so it has over night to work.

This reminds me of my inlaws. The husband was losing his hearing but didn't see it as a big problem. His wife finally said, "Husband, you're being selfish. I have to repeat myself over and over, please get your hearing checked. He finally did and they lived Happily Ever After.
