What other help is there?

Posted by EW @ew62, Dec 18, 2022

I am a survivor of Septic Shock and a survivor of the ICU. I am amid syndromes and am reaching out to find out if professionals specialize in these areas of post-septic shock and ICU syndromes. If so, who are they? I want to get more help with this. I am surprised I was sent home with no information regarding these syndromes, nor was my family alerted to their seriousness. I find the groups helpful, but not in a therapeutic way. I don't want to read more about them as I become mired in the information. I need someone to work with me on my road to recovery. I have changed, and I am struggling with these changes. Mayo Clinic has to have some person on staff or know of a professional specializing in mental health regarding post-ICU and Septic Shock. If it doesn't, I would strongly advise getting it established.

Thank you,

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I do believe I spoke with them this summer, but I cannot fully remember.

Firstly, a person needs a referral to get into this clinic. Secondly, why wasn't my family or I aware of this clinic? I am left trying to get help, unaware of knowing where to turn for this help. I am incredibly frustrated and suppose other patients may feel the same.
