I have osteoarthritis in my knees, elbows and shoulders. I use Voltaren Gel. It’s not a natural remedy but, it’s quick, easy and you are not swallowing pills. Starting out you need to use it like three times a day for 2-3 days then you need to consistently keep using it once or twice (depending on your activity during the day) every day. It doesn’t smell like a “Ben Gay” type of gel so it’s pretty inconspicuous. You do need a prescription for this. It works very well for me. My sister, brother and mother all use it as well with great success. This might be something for you to consider trying.

@dementmt it is not prescribed as a pain killer. I don’t believe the tablet form is a pain pill. All I know is it helps with my knee and shoulder pain so I can move around easier.

@dementmt look at Drugs.com. It says that Voltaren gel is an NSAID in topical form, mostly used for osteoarthritis on knees and hands.
I personally don’t take oral NSAIDs because of kidney disease. This topical gel is used in a specific area and doesn’t travel through your bloodstream to other body organs, that’s why I use it instead of any NSAID in pill form.

I checked on goodrx.com and they offer some outstanding savings on Volteran gel. The price varies on your zip code of course. If you have not used goodrx.com check it out. I use it when my insurance co-pay is really high and I find that if I use a goodrx.com coupon rather than my insurance I save a great deal of money (always a good thing). There is no charge to sign up with goodrx.com (no monthly premiums).
