@colleenyoung He is a part of a clinical study and I U Medcial/Simon Cancer Center group is wonderful He has his 6 week CT-scan Thurs and then goes back on Monday for labs/Dr/Infusion which is Prembo every 3 weeks and has he done the genetic bio testing so that is any new better treatments come along or if the Prembo Some say I am crazy driving all the way to Indy just for the scan should have it done locally – but they are on top of everything they know what they want done, looking for/at and there is no hassle to make sure its there in time for the next labs/Dr/Infusion date. He done amazing with his Chemo so 12 weeks no nausea, diarrhea etc. minimal hair loss and it even grew back thicker; has not been sick only some minor nephropathy in his feet and its about gone Hopefully things will continue well but one always knows there are the "What if's" and with Stage 4B Lung Cancer thus far it what was there has shrank and not growing. They are very up front, question as to how feels, if any symptoms, reactions, rash, itching etc. etc. a check list they go down each time. The attitude is side effects are important and not the "be dam" like had with his dad – they keep questioning as to if any Its not a rush in and rush out visit like around here; they take the time to talk to you ask how things going etc, they have even called when we have run late asking where we are and if we are okay something that does not happen around here; and even an e-mail to say Happy Thanksgiving. Just hoping weather does not get to bad its been colder than a… since the last of 2 weeks October and last year at this time we were in the 60's part of the time here in Northern Indiana.

@reibur- Are you talking about Chris?
No my Friend Paul – @colleenyoung tagged me – maybe I should not of replyed am in the group "Just Want to Talk' because of his dad who was fightiing not making red blood cells since Nov 2016 & died this June and him – did not realize the groups had switched
Thank you for responding to my tag @reibur1951 and updating us about Paul. I think some of the members in this discussion may not have had the background of your past messages. If I remember correctly, Paul also had "ground glass" in his scans. Thus I thought you might have some thoughts for Chris. If you, click VIEW & REPLY in the email notification, you can read through the past messages of this discussion.
@chris8515 ask questions and google do research and then go back and ask questions – I hope the doctor does follow-ups
As being done – Paul has STage 4B lung cancer diagnosis in Oct. 2016 – been through 12 weeks of chemo and into the Prembo phase of the study gets CT-Scans every 6 weeks see progress or non-progress or if… right now is stable the "ground glass" nodules showed up in last 2 scans and they are keeping an alert eye on them – at this point for Paul there seems to be no worry but watching them carefully.
Don't worry, I often don't know what group I'm responding to, they often overlap

I have heard the is a place across the border in Mexico that can cure stage 4 lung cancer
@joangma– Can I yell? ahhhhh. There is no cure for cancer period. If there were cures than no one would have it. Please don't fall for stuff like this-it's a scam. They want your money. The best hospitals and clinics are right here in the good ole USA.
ok just trying to help.
I know you were Wayne.
sure thing i will, 🙂 i have a few other posts in other areas maybe u can respond to some of those to?
I too have had CT scans that showed ground-glass opacity in one of my lungs. I've also been told it is not a significant finding. It can be a result of a previous bout of pneumonia or some other infection. I see you have posted in some other discussion groups. How are you doing?
@chris8515– Hello again Chris. You really don't need one more thing do you? Why did your doctor order a CT scan ? I'm assuming that it was a pulmonologist? You said that you have had CT scans that show GGN- ground glass nodules. Are you being followed by a pulmonologist? GGN can be a lot of things and if more than one shows up, or grows than it really needs to be followed.
Here is some information https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6131181/
I hope that your headaches are better. Are you feeling better?

Are ground glass opacities an indication there is lung cancer in the lungs or a precursor to lung cancer?
Hi @jpremin, welcome to Connect. You'll notice that I moved your message to this existing discussion about ground glass opacity. Click VIEW & REPLY to see the past posts.
Ground glass opacity (GGO) nodules may be indicate early stage cancer, but not always. Did you recently have a CT scan that indicated GGO nodules? Have you had a chance to talk to your doctor about the results of the test?
@jpremin– Good morning. I'd also like to welcome you to Mayo Clinic Connect. I was pretty scared when I was told that I had a GGO show up. I thought that maybe something sharp was causing the CT to look like that. I am a lung cancer survivor of 22+ years and most of my nodules show as ground glass. I don't know if you were shown the CT scan itself but when you look at the nodules they actually look like ground glass. Simply put GGO can be non-specific findings that can indicate a partial filling of air spaces, of a mass of cells and fluid that has seeped out of blood vessels or an organ, especially in inflammation, or cancer. Non-specific means that the CT scan shows GGO but doesn't discern what caused it or what is inside. It just shows that something changed.
What symptoms led to you having a Lung CT? What did your doctor say about your results?
