What do you know about the new HRT information?

Posted by cbp123 @cbp123, Nov 11, 2025

I am hearing a lot about the use of HRT for post menopausal women and that it is very helpful with women’s health overall
Your thoughts? Thank you. Carolyn

I understand the transdermal vs oral is safer and unlikely to cause cancer. The bioidentical hormones are preferred over the synthetic type. I’m unsure of the accuracy of the info on Google but I get a lot of information from their AI.
A good HRT Doctor would be able answer any questions

Perhaps we may be getting too dependent on AI for answers to questions that are so important to our health.

The AI information that I take seriously actually references the articles from reliable sources such as pubmed & NIH. I often review those articles after reading the AI summary. And I always look for more info to compare and check if the info is consistent or if there are different points of view to get a full picture in order to judge and make a decision for myself.

I agree. This is why I appreciate a real person's thoughts about HRT. When i see my OBGYN I will be sharing with her what others have commented. Carolyn

Would my OBGYN be the place to ask about the right HRT treatment for me. At 81 I still have hot flashes. I am still working full time and want to continue working and feeling good but have noticed an anxiety increase … if there is another type of Dr I should contact I will Appreciate knowing. Thank you. Perhaps, yes. However most establishment doctors follow their medical “handbook” and don’t prescribe HRT to the elderly. I got my diagnosis and prescription from a naturopathic doctor. (Who happens to be on HRT herself for anxiety)

I am elderly too at 77. I went to a functional medicine provider.

I have read the research that the connection with breast cancer is debunked.

Hi
I too am always skeptical and concerned about medications.
However if your body is missing something that you can add back to it does make some sense.
The “ scare label” about breast cancer if you take replacement HRT seems questionable as well

@cbp123 The connection with breast cancer has been disproven.
