What do you know about the new HRT information?

Posted by cbp123 @cbp123, Nov 11, 2025

I am hearing a lot about the use of HRT for post menopausal women and that it is very helpful with women’s health overall
Your thoughts? Thank you. Carolyn

Possibly endocrinologist and more likely a functional medicine provider.

I am 67 and just started on transdermal HRT for sudden onset of dermatitis and severe anxiety. Nothing has changed in my life that would cause such anxiety. Fortunately I came across 2 Naturopathic Doctors who understand that hormone changes don’t just stop at the medical system’s timelines. They did not hesitate at all about HRT for my condition. One of the ND’s is a women who is on HRT herself at the age of 60.
I’ve heard stories of women in their 80s suddenly developing severe anxiety out of the blue. Doctors respond with antidepressants, not with the root cause. These poor women.

are you at liberty to share the Naturopathic Doctor you have had success with? I live in a rural area of Wilkes County and there are no Naturopathic Doctors in our area. I still work full time and walk every morning and I too have developed the "anxiety" "anger" symptoms for no apparent reason...thank you Carolyn

Would my OBGYN be the place to ask about the right HRT treatment for me. At 81 I still have hot flashes. I am still working full time and want to continue working and feeling good but have noticed an anxiety increase … if there is another type of Dr I should contact I will Appreciate knowing. Thank you. @cbp123

If that is North Carolina, try functional medicine.

I would be happy to share with you but it may not be helpful. I live in Vancouver, BC , Canada
I could continue to post my treatment and progress, and perhaps you can learn from it and see if your doctor will prescribe you the meds. I’ve just started my treatment, 12 days so far so I can’t say that it is working yet.
The ND is Dr. Maria Fabbro and she works in a clinic in Burnaby, BC called Total Therapy. You can find it online. I don’t know if she does online appointments with people outside of BC.
The other ND is Dr. Lawrence Chan who is with Integrative Naturopathic Medical Centre in Vancouver, BC. You can find it online.

thanks so very much and i agree about the distance....Hopefully i will find someone closer to home. I look forward to hearing how you are doing with your treatment. It is my understanding that new information indicates that the "breast cancer scare" is behind us now ....It just makes sense if your body loses something it needs you should replace it if possible. Thank you again Carolyn

I understand the transdermal vs oral is safer and unlikely to cause cancer. The bioidentical hormones are preferred over the synthetic type. I’m unsure of the accuracy of the info on Google but I get a lot of information from their AI.
A good HRT Doctor would be able answer any questions
