Went to Dr,about high blood sugar
Thank you to all who suggested I go to a DR. I was started on ozempic.
I am monitoring what I eat. It's a (little) easier knowing the end result of eating the wrong things.

Good for you.
Be sure to keep an eye on how you feel. Ozempic isn't for everyone.
Are you going to keep an eye on your blood sugar on a daily basis?

1 ReactionWhat to expect with Ozempic:
>> Slows digestion so need to be careful about eating late. Heartburn can be a problem when you lie down since gravity helps keeps fluids from rising.
>> Like any diet you need to exercise to lose more fat than muscle.
>> Every step up in dose is hard on the body. It will get better in a few weeks.
>> Wish you the best. Ozempic provides good glycemic control for most.

2 ReactionsAnyone have an experience with Dapagliflozin 10 mg
once daily?
Started Ozempic at .25 as recommended and have taken my 4th dose. Feeling off....jittery and anxious with heart palpitations. At times, I feel a bit better if I take a sip of pop and wait. Feeling nervous about increasing my dose in 4 days and how that may affect me. Anyone else with the same challenges?
@alley1 Due to the 7 day half-life you have a body dose of .47 now. Another .25 jab will bring that to about .49; if you increase it to .50 the body dose will be about .74. If uneasy probably should continue at .25 (is it still a .25 /.5 combo pen?). Escalation is hard on the body. It is a minimum of 4 doses at .25. Never heard of a doctor that set a maximum.

1 Reaction@jim18 Yes, it's still a .25/.5 combo pen. I'm concerned that if I don't increase to .50 for my last two doses, I won't lose weight. I had read you had to make this increase for weight loss.
@alley1 Hello. I guess I am one of the lucky one's. I get a side ache toward evening. Sometimes a little light headed. I don't think about the injection every day. Almost forgot my last one. I have been concentrating on a healthier diet. Making plans ahead of my meals. My daughter had to take injections and she actually got panic attacks fearing she would get terrible side affects. I so hope your body gets in tune with the med. I know there are more meds out there, but i know nothing about how they work. Good luck

1 Reaction@alley1 You will need to increase the dose to lose weight. It is just a matter of how fast you go to allow your body to adjust. Your second pen should also be a combo. It can be used for another 2 doses at .25 and then you can finish out the .5 doses left in the first pen; then finish up the second pen (total of 6 .25 and 5 .50). In the fridge pen is good (per Nova) for 8 weeks from first use. The first pen expires right after your 9th shot; second pen after 13th shot so can be used to get 11 shots between 2 pens and still be within Novo guidelines. If you feel good about stepping up now you will get six .50 doses from the two pens for a total of 10. At that point you will need to decide if you are ready to step up to 1.0mg or need another intro pen. For best weight loss will probably need to go to 1.0mg at some point. It is not a race. More side effects are suffered by those that race through titration.
