I will watch the video soon but I tried CBT for 5 weeks. Did not do much for me. I tried 2 physical therapists. I tried aqua therapy and liked that-for 6 weeks. When I have pain in my head I want to know what is happening in there. Is my brain changing? I believe my memory has been affected.

Hi Sue I think the important thing to remember with the pain rehab center at Mayo Clinic is that it's an all-inclusive comprehensive program. It's not like doing each thing separately on your own. You are in class together with peers for 3 weeks and work with a team assembled for your well-being. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, sleep hygiene, nurses, doctors, cognitive behavioral therapy. The overall approach and care the program offers is awe-inspiring. I couldn't think of one thing they did not cover. Of course after graduating it's up to the individual to apply the principles and implement the tools, otherwise it will not pay off. They have a saying, "work the program and the program will work for you".

It might be worth considering if all other approaches have failed. The other important part is the science of the program. You're working with therapists that help explain the why behind the what in chronic conditions.

Have you been to doctors and asked why your brain feels this way?Are you concerned something has been missed in diagnosis?

I just know that with the random pain when it’s in my head and don’t know what’s going on the cause pain in my head. I don’t think the doctors missed anything except my L side is weaker than my R. I’ve been to 2 neurologists. Dr. West here in Layton has been very helpful. He diagnosed me with CPAmplificatiom. I saw his social worker for 5 weeks-CBT.

Hello, my name is Sue..living in Ireland.
I have huge back problems.. partly mechanical, partly nerve - the pain has changed my life.
I am a pro active positive person and basically have tried everything.Had 2 surgeries and been told they can't do any more...SO.. I had a Nevro SCS implanted late 2022 and have had NO relief to date.I didn't have a trial -surgeon is very reputable &was sure it would be a success. I am getting desperate now and wondering whether anyone has had a similar experience..

Hi Sue I'm sorry to hear about your back chronic pain. It's difficult to live with something that never gets better. Although you're back might not get better, you sure do because we grow through what we go through when learning how to live with and manage chronic pain. Being your a positive proactive person, I'm sure your mindset has served you well. What type of physical activity are you able to do? Do you stretch regularly?

Do you take nerve medication? If all tests and scans prove negative, might the pain be nerve related, or muscle tension, stress related? Have you tried meditation during the time you have this pain?

I don’t know. This is what I take: Nortriptelene, Sertralene, Gapentin, Meloxican, Trazadone. I just started cannabis gummies under the direction of my pain specialist.

Can you get RSO capsules (medical marijuana)there? It’s the only thing so far that has helped my pain

hi...I've had the same pain in up upper right ribs for over 10 years...ribs are tender under my right arm, and the last rib on the right-side hurts when touched...I've had ultrasounds, upper and lower scopes, CT scans etc...nothing has come of it...it definitely bothers me more when I am stressed...I am a server, so I am active...the pain is more noticeable when laying on the right side and while sitting down...any ideas?

Thanks for your reply Rachel.
I do indeed do stretches and specific exercises for leg strength,in the pool..as standing is a big problem for me.
