Weakness feeling in my chest
Has anyone have episodes of feeling weakness in your chest with slight pain. The weakness and chest pain not necessarily brought on by exertion. I just has a ekg at Dr's office which was good. I have a stress test and echo scheduled this month.

Hi @asolidrock, and welcome to Connect. That feeling of “weakness” in your chest caught my attention, especially since you describe it as happening with some pain but not necessarily with exertion.
It sounds like your doctor has already started gathering information about what may be causing it. Your EKG provided information about your heart’s electrical activity at the time it was done. The echocardiogram will allow your doctor to look at your heart’s structure and how it is working, while the stress test can provide information about how your heart responds when it is working harder.
This Mayo Clinic information explains some of the tests used to evaluate chest pain and what doctors can learn from them:
- Chest Pain Diagnosis and Treatment
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/chest-pain/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20370842
Chest pain can have many possible causes, including those involving the heart, lungs, digestive system, and muscles and bones. Mayo Clinic provides an overview here:
- Chest Pain Symptoms and Causes
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/chest-pain/symptoms-causes/syc-20370838
While you wait for your testing, let your healthcare team know if the pain changes or worsens, and please call 911 for sudden, severe chest pain or unexplained chest pain that lasts more than a few minutes.
How would you describe that feeling of “weakness” in your chest? Have you noticed anything that seems to bring it on or anything else that happens at the same time?

1 ReactionIt's really hard to pin point the pain cause I can have weakness without the pain. Sometimes it seems to occur after eating; I walk a couple times a week and 1x have i had any pain I never get out of breath or loss of energy. Im keeping a close full watch on it and if need be ill go to the ER. Im glad my cardiologist ordered these test which may indicate a blockage. I had an echo less than a 6 months ago and it was OK although I realize things could change
An update on weakness and pain in chest. Had nuclear stress test and echo; both were normal whatever that means. Im still having the same symptoms and am scheduled to see cardiologist on the 28th for a follow up visit
