Wanted: Organ Transplant Recipients Who Have Been Hit By a Car

Rosemary the rose is beautiful thank you for the picture, my walking has progressed so good and fast actually I have exceeded every goal that they set for me and bypassed some also ontuseday this week I did a wheelchair to car transfer and passed with flying colors so I broke out for two and a half hours yesterday with permission of course and went and bought me some shoes that don't hurt my feet and also this mondayof this week I got to start walking with the walker by myself and we have a ramp inside the nursing home and I walked up and down the ramp with no problems this next Tuesday of next week I have a home visit with physical and occupational therapy to see what equipment I will need and if I can manuver in my apartment with a four wheel walker I know I can as I already did it once before for about a month and I go back to Rochester this next wed to see the trauma surgeons and to have the IVC filter removed and I'm going to do my darndest to convince the trauma team to remove my ostoyme and iliostomye and repaired both stomas which means putting my intestines back together again those are the only two things that I have left to have fixed and the ostoyme and iliostomye are hindering my progress to go home as it needs to be emptied all the time and changed every five days if not sooner and I'm not able to do it as looking at it makes me sick I've had enough of it. But I'm doing great and I managed to get past a huge hurdle for me I crossed the street yesterday was very anxious and very scared and I crossed it with cars coming I was shaking so hard while doing it but I did it and I crossed the same street today with traffic coming but wasn't shaking until I got back to the physical therapy gym I should mention I didn't cross it by myself I crossed with my physical therapist I don't honestly think I can ever croos a road by myself again but I need to get the courage and strength up to do it later on down the road .I will let you know what the surgeons say on Wednesday .my home visit puts me one step closer to getting home by my goal time which is no later then the middle of june

@glinda, either you have been quiet or it's that I have not been able to get on much recently. I hope you are doing well, please apprise us of your progress.
I love carnations, they really last a while too. Tulips are pretty and popular in the spring, but they seem to wither very quickly.

@glinda I spoke too soon when I asked about your progress! It sounds like you are doing wonderfully, congratulations. It must feel so good to finally be able to move around more. When you have the ostoyme and ileostomy how long is the recovery? If that is the major block to getting home you must be very anxious to get those done.

@contentandwell, I haven't been on much myself just working real hard at walking I crossed the street at the care center where I am doing my rehabilitation and that's with traffic coming with my physical therapist last Thursday and Friday and was scared to death my therapists both physical and occupational have given me the go ahead to walk by myself with a walker in the care center and it's only been three weeks and tomorrow I have ahome visit with my therapists to see what adaptive equipment I will need in my apartment so I can live independently with minimal help will need an aid to help me for a little while but that's ok I have exceeded every goal that my therapists have set me and I have by passed some also no one thought I would be doing as good as I am but I'm stubborn and I have faith in anything I set my mind to and I'm also a very strong person will keep you up dated I am going back to Rochester this wed to see the trauma team and am going to convince them to removed my ostoyme and iliostomye and put my intestines back together and the IVC filter removed from my leg those are all the surgeries that I have left now

My biggest obstacle to going home was not being able to walk but now that I can I don't really think it will be a problem when my ostoyme and iliostomye are removed as to me going back home the biggest thing now is setting my apartment up with the adaptive equipment I will need but if my apartment isn't ready when I am to go home I do have a place to stay until it is

@glinda I am glad to hear that you are stubborn, Glinda! That has really paid big dividends for you in your recovery. I hope that your Wed. appointment in Rochester goes well. Keep up that great work you are doing.
