Using sodium sulfate after albuterol

Posted by spunkye @spunkye, Dec 19, 2023

I use sodium chloride in my nebulizer after I’ve used albuterol, also in the nebulizer. The sodium chloride takes much longer to use, and I’m wondering if it’s really necessary to use it after the albuterol

@spunkye The albuterol sulfate opens your airways if they are constricted. Some people just use a puff of the albuterol inhaler instead of a neb. Sodium chloride makes your lungs an inhospitable environment for MAC bacteria to grow. So if you have MAC, the sodium chloride is probably more important then albuterol.
Have you asked your pulmonologist for an opinion?
