Type 2 Inflammation
I have not discussed with my Pulmonologist yet. Will see him at the beginning of May. Constant symptoms with mucus, coughing, breathlessness, heaviness in my chest. I have tried so many types of inhalers that either don’t help much or have awful side effects. My blood work shows a definite pattern for Type 2 Inflammation. Which is why I started researching the Dupixant. Just wonder if anyone can weigh in on this, or has experience with?

Please do not listen to TV ads and search the internet for causes, meds, or advice. Go to an authorized and referred pulmonologist and follow their advice. Do NOT take any health supplements recommended by some hack on the internet or friends or whatever. Before inhaling or ingesting anything but food not recommended by a REAL doctor get approval. Nobody needs Turmeric or magnesium or any of that otc bullshit if you eat right. Doctors are aware of all the new meds and CRAP on the tv ads. See your doctor first and do what they say.
I learned the hard way. Believe me it ain't worth the grief! If there ain't a degree on their wall they don't know shit! That includes your well meaning friends and work mates.

2 Reactions@mrmover Not entirely must you have elevated eosinophils, there is also consideration on the treatment that you have been on for exacerbation and been on steroids. Ask your physician if you have any questions about whether you meet the criteria. I did no have elevated eosinophils and have been on dupixent for several years.

1 Reaction@hildacummings80 I noticed I was breathing better about the 2nd shot, it just continued. It says it can take a while before you notice and not to quit. I have stage 4 severe emphysema, Half of upper L lobe removed, now scar tissue. Keep taking the shot give it a chance.

3 ReactionsThankyou so much. What did you feel that it was helping
@mrmover I was breathless just walking around my house , talked with my doctor and told him I need to try something new, I’m on breztri, ohtuvayre, albuterol and still out of breath so he had a lot of blood test done and because I had a lot of white blood cells which cause inflammation I qualified to go on Nacala, same as dupixen both were said good for COPD , had a injection 3 1/2 weeks ago and i actually can walk around my house not being out of breath. It took a while for my insurance to cover it but finally did
@ricktweld I to am on DUPIXENT, my 7 shot, I don’t have near the mucus and breath better. What were the difference you seen as you continued to take it.
@snoots i am on my 13th dose. Same results as you and I don’t cough as much and the wheezing is much better. I have been checking my o2 sats for several years now, and I usually average between 92&93 levels. Since starting dupixent, I am measuring between 95&96. Hope this helps you. Good luck!

1 ReactionI took Dupixent every 2 weeks for 11 months as bd then had to switch to Nucala due to intolerable side effects (muscled & joint pain). My eosinophils as measured by blood test were >500 and I had been having 1-6 exacerbations/year before starting. My resting saturation rates have gone from 92-93 to 96 or so. The Nucala is only every 4 weeks.
I have had to have multiple conversations with CVS specialty pharmacy so they will properly rebill and code. It’s a Medicare B medical coverage and then my insurer will pay the balance. So far so good with Nucala — fingers crossed it continues to work.
