What's trazodone withdrawal like when used for insomnia?

Took Trazodone as sleep. Has anyone taken it and then stopped ? Was there any withdraw effects ?

Lisa thanks
6-7 hrs of uninterrupted sleep would be wonderful but I haven't seen such a sleep in 20 years (maybe twice)
My doctor is so busy that I can't speak to her for 10 days, but last night I took 1/4 tranzodone (25 mg.) and felt my sleep was poorer rather than better. My circadian rythm is now 3 hr. intervals which has been delineated by awakenings from Nocturia, Apnea, dry mouth, bad dreams and generally being a light sleeper. My sleep hygiene is excellent except for the fact that the evening meal is often a bit late at 9 PM. (I retire at 11:15 PM). After trying most of the well known sleeping pills here in Israel I am beginning to believe that the solution is in the realm of alternative medecine - relaxation and tension reduction methods. I had a recent (my first - I am 76) geriatric evaluation and the Doctor asked if I had ADHD? I said yes it is there in the background. I am starting to wonder if Ritalin is worth a try.

My oldest married daughter (49) and I (76) have the same symptoms of difficulty falling asleep and frequent wakenings (3-4) every night. She recommended clonex which I found only marginally helpful but did ensure the last sleep from 4-6 Am was good quality sleep. Strangely enough together with 250 gm of metamizole (dipyrone
- here legal and called optalgin) or ibuprofen worked even better. However my GP was unhappy and took me off. I didn't really taper long enough and I still feel energyless and foggy. She put me on Miro (mirtazapine) which was a disaster - I forgot and took a full tablet the first night and felt like a zombie for 48 hrs. Tonight is my first night of Tradozone - I am going to start at 25 mg. wish me well. Does anyone know what schedule is recomended for continuous but interrupted use so you don"t need a "decompression period" after?

@jonnyros1950 I've been taking 150mg. of Trazodone for at least 10 years. No side effects and I sleep through the night about 7 hours. Why not ask your doctor about Trazodone?

@jonnyros1950 I used to take 200 mg of Trazadone at night for sleep. I have gotten down to 50 mg. a night. If 25 mg helps you sleep, the less you take is probably better. But, yes, be sure and talk to your doctor.

I had taken it for years and was great in helping me sleep. I only stopped cause of other meds I had to take. But I keep a prescription for times when I might need it.
