Took Trazodone as sleep. Has anyone taken it and then stopped ? Was there any withdraw effects ?

I was prescribed Trazadone for restless leg. It works for that, I think because it puts me to sleep, especially fast on an empty stomach. I’ve not tried to get off of it, so no comments about that.

I have been taking trazadone for 20 plus years as a sleep aid. It has worked great until I miss a dose before bed. In about 20 minutes I can not get to sleep plus, my lower back begins hurting. That is my usual signal that I missed my does. Within 15 minutes of taking the missed dose, my back pain goes away and I can fall asleep!

I was on 150mg for over a year and lowered the dose to~100 for 4 months then lowered to 75 about 8 weeks ago. I’ve had anxiety spikes, felt very tired and still feel foggy like being hung over. I don’t want to lower it any more until the current symptoms have stopped but I don’t know how much longer it will take? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

@m54758 Good morning, my name is randy and i have been on Trazadone for so long i don't remember how many years now but i am slowly with my daughter and doctors getting off some meds i don't need to be on forever. I would be interested in what you find out as to getting off this med and how many steps you had to take to get it out of your system. Thank you.
