You may not have any side effects from Tranzadone yet but you will. This drug has negative effects on your brain function when used for an extended period of time. Do your research and talk with your doctor.
I was taking 200 mg of Trazadone a night and still only getting 3-4 hours of sleep often interrupted. I started having balance issues and blurry vision. It cleared up quickly. So it does affect our brain. Has any one tried cognitive behavioral therapy? My pc recommended it. They have tried max doses of four other drugs and nothing seems to work. I fall asleep ok just can’t stay asleep and I’m tired of getting up at 1 -2 every morning.

@roxiesmom13 I have tried CBT; it’s considered the gold standard for insomnia vs drugs. Definitely improves sleep habits, but I found that I still needed meds for sleep and am finally on the right one.
I took 50-150 mg of Trazodone or years and it helped a little bit for falling asleep, but wore off after 4 hrs when I'd wake up and wasn't able to fall back asleep. Eventually, it seemed to carry over into the day and made me feel sleepy all day so I quit taking it.
I found CBN gummies worked better for me. There is a brand from Minny Grown called Hibernate that you can try ordering from their website. Look for one with CBN and a tiny bit of THC.
I also started taking 2 mg of melatonin before bed. Also 300mg Magnesium Glycinate which relaxes muscles and can help you sleep.
I think what has helped me the most is low-dose Naltrexone. I started taking it for my fibromyalgia but found it helped immensely with my sleep. You have to get it from a compounding pharmacy and it's not covered by insurance. Here is one article about it: https://neurolaunch.com/naltrexone-and-sleep/
The maintenance dose is usually 4.5mg/day. You have to start at a low dose and build up to 4.5mg/day. Then it can take several weeks to notice improvement. Most people have no negative side effects (I haven't noticed any.)
@mmwagner46
You can always pretend.....
Hopefully we never out grow our ability? ....our desire...? to pretend
& sometimes we get lucky.
@denisejones00 Are you saying it may cause dementia?
i manage to get by on 50 mg with no side effects at all. it doesn't put me to sleep it just lets me doze off when i'm ready

May I ask which med you are on? I just can’t handle the side effects of Trazadone affecting my balance and vision.
