What are your recommendations for travel nebulizer?

A few months ago there were some emails about what to take and do when traveling. Someone from the NYC support group recommended the PariTrekS portable nebulizer. I ordered it from Just Nebulizers. When I ordered this I inquired at Just Nebulizers if this could be used with an aerobika. They referred me to Pari and its spokesperson could not definitively endorse their product with an aerobika. I got the same sense that Katherine always got that they didn't want to recommend a competitor nor endorse something for fear of liability. In any case, it can operate as an efficient nebulizer with a small compressor for travel. I ordered mine with a battery. The battery (not really needed) came defective and neither Just Nebulizers or Pari would give me a refund. Pari will be sending a replacement but as mentioned, battery is really not necessary. Hope this is helpful for the travelers on our forum. Terry

I did as Katherine would have: I used it with the aerobika and it seemed fine! Terry

@128128terry11t , I am looking into purchasing a travel nebulizer also. I am mainly looking to lighten the load weight-wise when I pack. I had read reviews on them and read that the plug-in kind was more reliable than the battery only ones.

You don't need to purchase the battery. I used it with an aerobika and it seemed to work fine. I cleaned both the aerobika and nebulizer in sudsy distilled water (not heated) and rinsed in distilled water while away. When I got home, I sterilized all immediately. I was delighted with my significantly lighter luggage. Terry

@128128terry11t does yours plug in also?

Yes. If you buy the battery (not necessary), you have both options. It was recommended by a gal connected with the NYC support group (recommended via email as I did not attend meeting). Terry

@128terry11t, Hello Terry. OMG, I purchased the same travel nebulizer that you did, and I LOVE it! I traveled out of state with it last weekend and used it in the car. It was nice to be able to do that in transit verses getting held up in the morning when trying to get out of the house. Plus, it nebulizes the medications so much quicker. Thank you for the recommendation.

Would you recommend the same nebulizer? Just got back from a trip and I really need to order a travel size. In addition, my grandson needs one for his meds so we're both looking.

@tinaesims Hi. I am disappointed with my travel Pari Sport S. The plug that goes into the cigarette lighter died after one single use and Pari would not replace it. I bought one online through Amazon for $10.00. Pari wanted $30.00 to replace it. The Pari nebulizer just fizzled on me. It still runs, but I'd be sitting here for hours waiting for a vial to nebulize. Thankfully, my friend in Va (I am away from home right now) had a spare nebulizer she wasn't using. So, I borrowed it. The travel Nebulizer will get you through some trips though.

The only nebulizer I use is my battery operated, hand held Omron. I’ve had it for years and it still works as though it’s brand new. I use 2 rechargeable batteries. I bought it on eBay at least 10 years ago! I can also plug it into my car’s cigarette lighter and have used it while driving. My saline solution takes about 20 minutes to nebulize. I haven’t tried boiling parts to disinfect. I rinse parts after each use in hot tap water. Once a week I nebulize vinegar and distilled water through it and soak the parts in the vinegar/distilled water solution before rinsing the parts in distilled water and air drying the parts.
