Norcyclobenzaprine (nCBP) is the primary active metabolite of the muscle relaxant drug cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), formed when the body processes cyclobenzaprine.
Traditional Cyclobenzaprine (Oral): Swallowed, goes to the stomach, then the liver, where a large portion is converted to norcyclobenzaprine, leading to accumulation and drowsiness.
Tonmya (Sublingual): Dissolves under the tongue, goes directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the liver, and results in less of the metabolite that causes daytime sedation.

I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia(age 69) 3 months ago. A lot of bloodwork, CT scans, MRIs etc. And have seen many Drs in 2025.
The pain is excruciating.
I take Vicodin 10mg Q8, Flexeril 5 mg Q8. Aspirin 325 mg Q8 or PRN. The Flexeril doesn’t make me tired and it works in concert with the Vicodin to give me some relief.
Sleep? Ha. Glad gummies help. Sigh.
And because the pain is so bad my BP is dangerously high(which is being treated also).

I have excellent Drs. because I was in healthcare for 35 years and know the good ones. Lol.
All of this sucks. Pain and brain fog.

@ecmoandrrt Thank you for the information. I have some questions:
1). Did you have trouble getting the Vicodin prescription? Most doctors are reluctant to prescribe it.
2). Do you take the cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) throughout the day?
3). Have you tried low-dose naltrexone? I believe it's helped me, if not I'm in some kind of remission after dealing with painful flares since 2021, after a bout of Covid triggered my fibromyalgia.
I'm sleeping okay now, but at night I still take magnesium glycinate 300mg, melatonin 2mg and sometimes 5mg cyclobenzaprine. I was taking a sleep gummy but don't need it now.
Good luck to you.

@ecmoandrrt Have you checked into LDN, low-dose naltrexone? It helped me very much.
