No diagnoses what so ever. Just said that I was under a lot of stress and that the white tongue was a cause of stress. I have been to my family doctor my dentist and a ENT. They don't have a clue!!!!!! Patti

Please read the book "the Yeast Connection" and follow the advice herein. I had this problem, with a lot of other problems as well that doctors couldn't guess about. I was assessed at an orthomolecular medicine clinic in NY and found to have a problem with chronic yeast overgrowth. I also had a B12 deficiency that also plays a part. My personal advice to you and to all who answered is to take liquid B Complex with 1000+mg B12. Can even buy cheaply at the grocery store. Put it under the tongue and if any irritation, put it on the tongue also. Next, watch diet and restrict sugar, and particularly yeasted bread.
Use the tongue brush anyway. Most importantly take a high quality 10+billion probiotic supplement and/or a really good yogurt culture.
Let me know how you do. All this is over the counter advice.
If you also have poor digestion, allergy, fatigue, mood issues, weakened immune system, and weight gain right now, they will also improve. Promise.

Has the B12 helped you? If so I will certainly buy some. At this point I would do anything to rid myself of this. Thank you so much for your advise and it is taking seriously. GOD BLESS Patti

unfortunately people with this problem do not absorb the minerals and vitamins through their stomach. I am waiting to get into internal medicine to see what I can do. My acupuncture doctor told me to try this .

This problem is only a memory for me, yet was only a few months ago. I heard testimonies on a vitamin site about the B12. So I got it, being as it was only $5.00 a bottle for liquid B complex at Walmart, so no loose. I put it under tongue for one minute, then also put right on any irritated spots, however ( i meant over 1,000 mcg (NOT MG. that was a really BAD spellcheck)! B12 deficiency shows up in blood tests but no need to wait because you'll know by if it helps. I used a mouthwash and brushed teeth with equal amounts baking soda & peroxide (or just buy the toothpaste) and used this also on my tongue with a brush. The main thing is to use whatever germ & fungal protection you can orally. Then I altered diet to avoid yeast, prebiotics, probiotics, and avoidance of processed foods, especially baked goods and sugars. (Nystatin is an anti-fungal medicine that works as a sendoff to a healthy diet, however you would need an enlightened physician willing to prescribe it). Im not a doctor, but this was awful. i threw together this plan based on my orthomolecular visit in the past, and thankfully it worked__so hope it works for you also!

Personally, I am a vegetarian who also has to take omeprazole. So I lacked the stomach acid to assimilate the B12, especially in a multi. that's why I think I had this problem. I'm not a physician, but I took the B12 complex and was better in a few weeks, using the under the tongue liquid type at 2000mcg then, 1000mcg.

Thanks Kathy for your email. My family doctor did give me some Nystatin saying I had thrush but it didn't do anything. I will try the B12 liquid and see what it does.. I really appreciate you so much. Like you said this is awful. Always feels like you have something hanging around on your tongue. Again thanks and GOD BLESS Patti

Nystatin may or may not act as a "sendoff," but if this is caused by yeast what will fix it is less sugar, less processed foods, and probiotics. That can take time, unfortunately. Yet in my case, I did find immediate relief from the B12, so,  hope you do also. I found one that is a liquid, and also has B2 andB6 (Walmart--Spring V or something like that) and was $5.99 for 2 mths, so, cheap. I should mention that during this same period I would swish mouthwash, and or red wine, in my mouth for a minute or so with each sip.  Something helped it so why not try all, I'm thinkin. Hoping helps. keep me posted.<br>
