I have suffered from this ailment for many years, since I had a covid infection it increased in frequency. I wish there was a solution to this problem but sadly nothing has ever come up. I’ve seen many advertisements for a new product that will help but I don’t believe in it and probably saved myself from losing money on a pipe dream. There is some viable information out there about using different sounds, apparently they can be found on YouTube videos, I personally had some on and off success with the sound of running water, I actually found it by accident, I might try looking for a video that could duplicate the sound because I have to stay near a water tap either in my kitchen or bathroom, not very comfortable but it affords me some well needed peace.

@frouke have used white noise sounds depending on the noise level. Everyday i seem to have different sounds. Some days higher pitch than others. Very annoying. Trying different herbs. Calming teas to help with mood. It’s the nerves in the brain. Going to Acupuncture because it helped get my taste and smell. Took a long time but it worked. Been to ENT but not much help. Saw supplements like you did. Tried one but the sweetener it had in it caused extreme problems. The sound will change or get worse as the day gets later.
Frustrating, isn’t it??

@gnana6 It’s a private nightmare that nobody else can hear, I’ve had times when it was relentless and I just wanted to scream. I am aware of white noise but I haven’t explored it yet, apparently it’s not ear related from what I’ve heard but rather it comes from the brain? I thankfully have some times when it leaves me alone but it’s getting less frequent, I also learned that covid has caused many people to suffer from this.

@frouke I have screamed and cried at times. Even get angry at my spouse. He’s hard of hearing so makes it worse at times. He knows to stay clear of me at times. I’ll have a couple good days then it starts all over again. The cricket sound is easier than the high pitch sound. That’s the worst.

@gnana6 My spouse is also hard of hearing and it definitely can complicate things for me. My noises consists of swooshing sounds almost similar to brain zaps.

Some days my noises are crickets. Some days loud, some days quiet. Some unable to describe. Some days high pitch loud noise..then maybe quiet for a couple days. Never without noise, interference. Just very annoying.

I know it’s pure hell and you feel so alone with it, I wonder if I would feel better if others could hear it, I sound so irrational at times. I went to the doctor years ago when it started happening, at that point in time it flared up maybe twice a year, I tried to describe the sounds and he said perhaps you were abducted by aliens!! I must say I thought I was crazy but I learned later that it was a real ailment which offered me a small comfort. I’m grateful that I inherited my mother’s sense of humour because you really have to rise above it or it can cause you very serious problems, I just pray that they will find a cure for this problem or maybe it will stop one day.

I have had tinnitus for many years, never giving me a break. I sounds like steam escaping from a radiator. It is really disheartening,

I never had tinnitus until I got LC. Some days it is not bad, other days, when I wake up with what I now know to be inflammation, it is really loud. It is like a constant hum (really high pitch) cicada emergence. Not sure if everyone knows that sound? Anyway, I have read that it is somehow neurological. That is what really bothers me about LC. We really do not know what it is doing to our organs and insides. It is not that bad this morning, and I will take that.

Yes I think what I have is similar. Sometimes its very loud and other times mild. Am trying neurofeedback now, in the middle of 20 sessions and hoping it will help with many symptoms.
Wishing you healing.
