I have persistent a fib for the last year I’ve been through two cardioversions both unsuccessful and an ablation, but I am still in a fib tried amiodarone, but had severe side effects Brady cardia and fainting. They took me off of the amiodarone and I am to begin tikosyn shortly in the hospital. Just curious if anybody has had success with this drug.

@bull36angel It sounds like you’ve really been through a lot this past year. Persistent AFib that doesn’t respond to cardioversion or ablation can be incredibly frustrating, and it’s understandable to feel unsure heading into a new medication.
Tikosyn (dofetilide) is one of the rhythm-control meds that many people do have success with, especially when other drugs like amiodarone aren’t tolerated. It has to be started in the hospital so they can watch your heart rhythm closely and adjust the dose safely. Some people convert back to normal rhythm during the loading period, and others notice better rhythm stability over time.
Everyone responds differently, but many patients report improved symptoms once they’re on the right dose. The close monitoring during those first few days helps reduce the risks and make sure it’s a good fit for you.
