When someone w/dementia experiences a traumatic brain injury (TBI)

I am wondering in a person in their 80s with progressive dementia/alzheimers can ever recover from a pretty significant brain injury. ??

Thank you all for your care and comforting words. My mom is soo strong and she has all 8 of us kids and 34 immediate family members with her this week. The COVID19 might affect the funeral though, only 10 people allowed at a time?!?! Cant really work for a service.
