Targeted therapy - only for patients who have the BRAF mutation?

Hello everyone. I have a question about targeted therapy. Is that only for patients who have the BRAF mutation?

@mickapoo: welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I’d asked this same question when I started treating for metastatic melanoma and the answer I got from my oncologist was that targeted therapy was only of benefit for those who are BRAF +. As I am BRAF - it would not be appropriate for me.
