Taking generic Viagra or Cialis for pulmonary hypertension
Intested in hearing anyone's personal experience taking either of these medications for mild pulmonary hypertension diagnosed by two echos. The cardiologist says I don't need a right heart Cath but has prescribed one of these drugs to possibly help with my mild shortness of breath. Have been trying Viagra (sildenafil) but it's three times a day and difficult to get the mid day dose in at the right time. Going to switch to Cialis (tadenafil) because it's once a day. I think the sildenafil has been helping - I think I am able to take a deeper breath but it's a subtle effect.

I take 2.5 MG of tadalafil a day. I don't take it for pulmonary hypertension, but I do have coronary heart disease. I take it for generally healthy blood flow to the heart, bones, brain, etc. PDE5 (Tadalafil) has numerous beneficial effects. It's a drug that I think more people could benefit from taking, but unfortunately, it's associated only with ED.
Did you really mean 2.5 mg daily because that's a REALLY small dose it seems. My prescription of sildenafil is 20 mg/3 times a day and the tadalafil they are changing me to is 20 mg once a day for one week and then switching to 40 mg daily.
Yes, that's all I take is 2.5 MG, but I don't have pulmonary hypertension. It works for what I'm taking it for. It is best to follow your doctor's advice. Are you having side effects or have concerns with your prescription?
