Taking Ambien during the day
I know, you're going to say I should be sleepy all time. I'm not! Ambien helps me sleep at night and 1/2 pill during the day calms my anxiety but I don't get sleepy. Problem is I run out too early and have to go cold turkey. I know it's crazy but....

@cindisue however - diazepam and lorazepam are both addicting and lorazepam is intended for short-term use - like 2-3 weeks. I was on it for about 6 weeks, with a 5-day break in the middle - and now i have to taper off. Went from .5 or 1 mg nightly, to 2 nights of .5mg then a night without anything and last night .5mg, tonight, nothing, and so on; next week, 2 nights in-between and then done.
And, i've taken sleep meds for 15 years, so it was very difficult to sleep without anything - but, for the better in the long run, IMHO.
Please be sure to research meds, don't just "trust" your doctor.
berekann,, I do lots of research before taking a medication. My 2 older sisters were on Lorazepam for like 5 years, taking everyday, before I started taking it. They both say it is a lifesaver for them. They are both still taking it, daily, and have NOT had to increase the amount they take, which is 1mg per day. (at night). It's been working fantastic for me for 2 years now. I started on 1.5mg, because it's for 2 different issues, insomnia and anxiety. I hate that there are some people who are very against benzos for long term use. They just don't get it. This medication has helped me and my sisters SO MUCH, and that is what is important. High dosages maybe shouldn't be taken long term, but 1-1.5mg is not a high dose. Please don't judge us that are helped from this med.

1 Reaction@cindisue I’m so sorry; I was not trying to be judgmental, but rather informative. I’m very glad that lorazepam is working well for you.
@ayalanydtampa how much do you take during the day?
