SVT while traveling or out in public

For those who have SVT episodes and you happen to be driving in a vehicle or out in public and need a space to perform the Valsalva Maneuver, how do you manage that? Thanks in advance !!!

That is exactly my problem. I just lay down where ever or go home. But now i want to fly for 10 hours and i have no idea how to solve that problem of lying down in a full plane.

Based on your experience, has the Valsalva Maneuver been successful most of the time?

I find it easy to perform valsalva while driving or out in public. Don’t panic. I am able to stop an SVT episode with one valsalva maneuver.

I posted this on a different thread, but there is a very recently FDA approved nasal spray that is used to stop SVT episodes called Etripamil (Cardamyst). I myself am interested in having this with me on a trip, in case I couldn’t abort an episode while in flight. I think this would give me some piece of mind.

Thank you. I too am interested in this and have been checking on availability. If anyone hears additional info it would be appreciated if they could share.

Can I ask how you do it driving?
When I do it I have to lie down after I have blown in the syringe and then lift my legs in the air.. this manoeuvre works so well for me.. x

@kate26 I do a regular valsalva maneuver which involves bearing down. I believe you are describing the other type of maneuver I have read about.

Oh right ok.. yes I do the manoeuvre where you have to lie down.. x

@psyche
I haven't taken a flight sense the episodes began and now I'm afraid that I'll have an episode mid flight and scare everyone on board So, I made no plans to fly last year for that very reason or any this year and that saddens me. I'm going on a cruise in April and I'm so nervous about it. My anxiety level was great before this and now not so much. Thanks for sharing this info.
