Sudden enlarged lymph nodes

We never know what direction our lives will take us, do we? I hope that you’ll be able to still use your nursing degree in some capacity. If you’re having back issues then wrangling patients in beds won’t be an option but having that degree is certainly not wasted. There are other applications for nursing that working with patients in a hospital setting.

Sorry lost all my comments so here we go again:
After 6 weeks of hospitalisation & tests and biopsy’s, I was on 1sr June diagnosed with Non Hodkinsons Lymphoma. Aggressive, stage 3 large tumours - 18 in all.
Now I have just started my 4th cycle of 6 three weekly chemotherapy. Very positive so far.
Pet scans used and after the 6 th cycle ends another Petscan to see if there are any active tumours left, if so they will use Radiotherapy to zap them.

This is turning out to be a wild summer for you, isn’t it, after your diagnosis of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma! It’s really encouraging that your treatments are working. I know from experience the chemo isn’t fun but it’s a means to get back to normal! So, 3 down, 3 to go! Do you feel pretty wiped out halfway through the cycle before you start the next round?
What were your symptoms that led to your diagnosis?

Overall my reaction to the Chemo had been fine. No nausea tablets needed and no real tiredness just a sore throat for the first five weeks and I still have a runny nose.
Symptoms prior to treatments included - fatigue, weight loss, (11%) bloating abdomen, pain in lower abdomen, high calcium levels, mental fogging, lack of steadiness in walking, getting confused.
By the time just before Chemo I could not walk, swallow or talk properly.
