Hello my name is Jenny I am going through menopause and it's is excruciating, all I think of is all my failures, what I should have done in life, I'm depressed with high anxiety, any thing sets me off, I have insomnia that keeps me up, hot flashes and restlessness, I think terrible thoughts, I get manic and at times I think Suicidal, not as bad as in the beginning, every day I go to work and inside I feel alone and sad. I am on hrt and progesterone it worked in the beginning but now its like a roller coaster...If someone can relate and would like to be friends talk on the phone let me know..

Thank you so kindly for your support. It helps to know that so many women understand how I feel. I definitely understand many of their situations too.
I have typically noticed worsening of my perimenopause symptoms about a week before my period. I thought that the HRT would "even out" those worse times but so far it has not. The HRT definitely has alleviated many of my symptoms otherwise, and I am grateful to have found a doctor who listens - it wasn't easy.
I sent an online message to my doctor with the above concerns and he encouraged me to stay on the current doses of HRT. He said - hopefully this course of treatment will lead to ending my periods altogether. I am not well versed in how that works, however his comment gave me hope that some part of the HRT path ends in menopause *finally*!

Hi Jenny, the women on this page have given you some great advice, specifically about the dose of HRT you are currently getting. For me, I have found exercising and meditating help me greatly by calming the mind and reducing those negative thoughts. Join a group in your area that can help you get started.
