Stroke from an infection

Hello,
I had a mild illness not covid, flu, rsv, or strep for a couple of days. Around that time my uncle died of a stroke and I can't stop thinking that I infected him and that is why he died. We weren't close but lived in the same house building. Maybe there were a couple of days that I went to my grandma and he might have used the stairwell 1 or more hours from me , and I am thinking whether this could lead to an infection. He didn't report any symptoms and the doctor who did the autopsy told me that he would need multiple days of being sick if an infection contributed to the stroke. But I have been guilty for a long of time . But also there were other times that me or my family were sick and would go to work and he hadn't been infected. Or last year that I had the flu, he didn't get infected. Tell me what you think because this tortures me

I think you are overly worried and/or overthinking this. In reality, this is not likely to be the cause of a stroke.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
What God wants God gets. We can not control the outcome of something like that. Whether, you were the link or not you will never know. You might want to talk to someone about servivers grief. This is a common event. To avoid being a carrier try gargling with Listerine or water and hydrogen peroxide.- gargle, do not swallow. This will kill germs and help you to avoid getting sick.

Hello! Do you really think I had something to do with this? Because deep down I know, even though my mind keeps replaying all the possibilities, that I didn't infect him since he wasn't ill at all before he died. And about a month before he died, his son and my brother and my grandma were sick and he didn't get sick because we didn't have any contact with my uncle.

Clearly it seemed I was misunderstood. I was just making a suggestion that from your words you seem to be suffering from survivor's guilt. A person doesn't have to be guilty to suffer survivors guilt. Please seek counseling. As for the gargling part that is just a way for you to continue good health. Good luck.
