Are Parkinson's symptoms increased with stress?

Posted by esther589 @esther589, May 25 1:51am

I think my symptoms are increased when I feel stressed.
We currently have visitors staying close by and the pressure I feel to think about their needs every day as well as our own seems to be making my symptoms worse.
I've noticed it also when I go for hospital visits.
Do others experience this?

I understand. I don't feel like I am the same person anymore. I try be 'in the moment' but it's hard not to grieve the loss of your former self.

@esther589 YES! I completely understand & it makes me sad, too - I liked who I used to be & for me, that is one of the hardest parts f having PD!

YES! I find that I am stressed much more easily than before the PD & react by being irritable, which I hate. I am doing my best to avoid "stressful" situations, like visitors or traveling or prolonged exposure to people! And this, from a so-called "party-girl"! Narrows my life..........makes me sad.......................

Most definitely. I have always stressed out over everything. Did all that stress cause the PD or did the PD cause the stress?

I wondered about that too.
