Side effects of Eylea injections

Posted by lvon @lvon, Feb 16, 2020

I had one injection of a drug called Eylea in my eye which was 95 percent cured from using Avastan. My eye went back down to 30 percent with this new drug to the point where my sight is darkened and blurry. Has anyone had this problem after trying the drug Eyelina? Did you get your sight back?

@newyorknill

thanks so much for replying.

I didn't have any trouble with Lucentis. had many shots.
But that was with a different Dr. who is too far away
for me to continue to see.

This Dr. says he gives Eylea in his practice.
He was recommended by a friend.
i go back for 2nd eylea shot in left eye on 6/6/24.
I will tell the Dr. about headaches and blurriness then.

i am not due for right eye shot of eylea til 7/9/24

@newyorknill, It was normal for me to have discomfort after my eye injections, and it was relieved with 1 tylenol and a short nap with a cool washcloth over my eyes. Injection nday was my 'lazy' day.
I am curious and concerned because of your reaction to the injected medication in your left eye. I would hate for you to have a similar reaction in your right eye on 6/6/24. That is why I want to suggest that you notify his office, and ask the to let him know about yur reaction.
This may or may not be a concern, but, I think it is best to let him know ahead of your next visit. That way he is not surprised or in thr middle of a hectic day that could affect how he addresses this. Most medical providers provide a phone number and encourage patient to call with any concerns after a treatment. Do you have a a phone number where you can speak to someone who can relay your message to him? Or maybe you can be connected to one of the nurses from the office contact phone.
I hope that your next visit and injection go well for you. Are you feeling okay now?
