Share your test results (if you'd like)
I thought it might be helpful to have a thread dedicated to sharing routine test results, good or not-so-good. My intention is just to provide a place for sharing, support, and encouragement, not for debating tests and treatments
I'll start. I've been at stage 4b oligometastatic for over 2½ years, and last Friday I did my routine 12-week bloodwork. My PSA remains below 0.01 (undetectable), Orgovyx and Erleada are holding my testosterone at 0.2, and the other tests are in normal ranges, except for those related to iron, which are slightly low.
Overall, it was a banner day! 🎊 I always treat myself to a masala chai at the little Indian café across the street while I'm waiting for my results to pop.
Do you have any recent test results you'd like to share?

My PSA results over the last 16 months have been:
8.1, 7.8,5.4,4.4,7.1,6.0,6.3. MRI's have been Pirads 3 and most recently Pirads 2. Prostate volume 70ml. Continuing to monitor all the metrics. Going to a new urologist who will hopefully be more interested in further diagnostic testing rather than a "blind" biopsy.

3 Reactions@ezupcic Starting my post-bloodwork ritual of masala chai in the little Indian café across the street from the hospital lab.
It may not look like much in the photo, but it's the real thing: they roast the spices in the pan first, then add ginger, and finally simmer the milk and tea. I have to wait a while, but it's worth it.

2 ReactionsMemorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center provides a PSA Doubling Time calculator...https://www.mskcc.org/nomograms/prostate/psa_doubling_time
Attached are my PSADT results pre and post the MRI targeted biopsy which first diagnosed my PCa. PSADT is an important parameter to follow for those on active surveillance.

2 ReactionsEverything is still in the green. My stage 4 prostate cancer remains officially "in remission" for another 3 months. Thanks for all the vibes, prayers, and toasts. 🙂
I'm especially grateful (and lucky) that after 4¼ years of continuous systemic therapy with ADT+Apalutamide (Erleada), my kidneys and and liver still seem to be saying "Seriously? That's all you've got?"

2 Reactionsthe more parameters we can follow, the better. It is interesting though how Urologists have sort of set standard of care protocols and at least in my case are unwilling to suggest or pursue newer diagnostic tools. I understand the value of a biopsy however why not do gather as much information as possible before that decision?
@ezupcic asked ❝does the Masala chai lower PSA numbers? 🙂❞
That is my _entirely_ scientific conclusion.
But it has to be prepared traditionally (clay cup optional), not just hot water poured over a "masala chai" tea blend. No off-label treatments. 😉
@northoftheborder, and consumed somewhere in India…..

1 ReactionI've made an executive decision: I'm no longer waiting. Since the prior PET scan in 2021 showed cancer cells in a lymph gland within 1cm of the lower aorta, back then I decided I didn't want radiation that close to the aorta, & my oncologist agreed, so I decided on hormone therapy.
I was on for 2.5 years, then off for 2 years.
My last three monthly PSA values are 0.11, 0.12, & 0.14. So, it's rising. I don't see what additional useful information a new PET scan would give, given my decision to not radiate there. Then, if there's no point in doing the PET scan, why wait to resume hormone treatment?
Today my oncologist said that some people value extending the relief from ADT, & wait until their PSA gets to 10 or 20! He added that testosterone serves other functions in the body beside muscle growth & fueling the prostate cells. Since I felt fine during my prior hormone therapy, I asked today to go back on, & he approved.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
This time it will Orgovyx & Nubeqa.
