Severe constipation after covid: What helps?

Posted by sapna @sapna, Jul 25, 2022

I have been suffering from severe constipation since 6 months after i had covid. Did tried laxatives bit it only gives temporary relief. Did CT scan, colonoscopy , had pancreatic juices supplements but no luck. Has anyone experienced the same ? Any kind of help is welcome.

Yes! I had Covid 2 months ago and have been terribly constipated since. Have tried fiber, laxatives, stool softeners.. I eat tons of fiber. Nothing works long.

I also have had lots of difficulties with constipation since Covid has been around. No issues before. Lots of tests with normal results, lots of trying prescription medications, laxatives, low Fodmap diet. What I've had mine narrowed down to has been SIBO and more specifically IMO (intestinal methanogen overgrowth). Test to figure this out was a TrioSmart breath test and treatment is a course of 2 expensive antibiotics for 2 weeks. But for me this keeps recurring and there is no identified cause.

I have had the same problem. What has really worked best for me is a tea called Smooth Move. I would suggest you give this a try. I had tried so many other laxities and this tea works very very well.
