How to Search on Connect - It can help you!

..yes have used the search function many times along with checking any new comments and have discovered a lot of information I had not known but also hearing/reading what others with same/similar conditions have been through; what helped, what didnt, I think has helped me the most.... and I find majority of posters if not all are very candid about their illnesses, how it has affected them, what they have tried and where etc., I always try and spread existence of this site to people... thanks to to fine moderators who immediately know the right thing to say/recommend - sometimes bases on personal experience!

Cysts were found on my ovary. They want me to have an MRI but may have to wait 6 months. Have an app. on Dec. 12. Nothing seems to be happening. I am in Canada.

Hi Jake @jakedduck1, If you are looking to find a discussion, you can use the search box on the Connect home page just above the list of discussions. If you click on a specific group, you can search for a word or phrase in the title of a discussion to find discussions on a topic. You can also use the search box at the top of any Connect page to search all of Connect.

Here's an example that I used to find posts I made on PMR. You can see what I typed in the search box for all of Connect:
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=%40johnbishop+%2BPMR

When I'm having trouble locating a specific post, I sometimes use Google search since it works well for phrases. Here's an example if you want to type it in a Google search to see what it finds and experiment with your own phrases -- or just copy/paste in Google search.

Hi @agnieszka, Welcome to Connect. There are a number of conversations about elevated liver enzymes, however it looks like most are involved in a group with a common disease.

Liver enzymes can be elevated by any number of things, including some medications. We often don’t know they’re elevated until we see the blood results. There can be some obvious symptoms but usually those aren’t recognized unless there’s an illness or more serious liver damage.

Let me see if I can help get you to the right group. Were these liver enzyme results discovered in routine blood work or is there a diagnosis of another disease?

@loribmt Hi, thank you so much for your quick reply. I will join the discussion groups you have suggested. Yes, the liver enzymes Alt and Ast were discovered during a routine blood test, and there is no diagnosis of any other disease except hypothyroidism which I have been treating for many years. I tried to send you some labs and longer medical history, but I'm unsure why it is not going through. Thank you again for your input and suggestions.

Alt and Ast numbers at this point are 597 and 354
