Ovarian cysts, constipation, hemorrhoids, fissures

Posted by xtinapear30 @xtinapear30, Nov 28, 2017

I’ve been to the emergency room several times the last two weeks. Thought it was my appendix, turns out the source of all this pain and extreme bloating was from very large ovarian cysts. I had no trouble with constipation until this occurred. It hurts to try to go and now it’s resulted in hemorrhoids and fissures. The er doc said to see a gynecologist for possible surgery or hormones. I’ve called every gynecologist I cant find and no one takes Medicaid. I can’t live like this. All they do is load me up on morphine and pain pills and all I want is a solution. I don’t want to be on pain medication I have a toddler to take care of. Is there any way around this? Is there any help out there?

Hi, @xtinapear30, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. We have had a number of members talk about ovarian cysts, and I'd like to introduce you to some of them here: @esteya76, @ouchtummy8, @mepslissy, @jaimie626, @kdubois and @lovelife0723. Hoping you can all meet up here on this thread and that they might have some ideas.

In the meantime while you search for other solutions, have you ended up taking some of the pain medication? If so, does it help?

Possibly Pelvic congestion syndrome?

I discovered last December that I not only had 20 plus cyst on my ovaries but pre cancer as well. I had laparoscopy to remover the cyst as well as the cancer. I have had nothing but problems since, my OBGYN first put in a IUD " not blood no growth" is her way of looking at me. I bleed for 5 months till I finally had it taken out. I went for my yearly this past November, clean Pap thank God but ultrasound showed not only more cyst on my ovaries but on my uterus this time...… doctor said now worries we will try a birth control. I have been on the pill since before Thanksgiving and have bleed the whole time except for approximately 2 weeks!! I have no energy, gained lots of weight, depressed and scared! I have just done some research of my own and just found some information that my blood type my be in play with why nothing will stop my period and to why I bleed more. Im asking for help and/or information as to what to do, I am only 32 and not ready for a hysterectomy but if that is what I need i don't want to do it where i live. I am looking for a better doctor that can find out what is wrong and why it hurts to poop as well.

Hi, @dean2016 - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Having pain when you poop does not sound like fun. I've had that following a prolapse surgery, and it's difficult. Sounds like you have menstruated now for a long time, with the birth control pill given to you for your ovarian and uterine cysts, with only a respite for 2 weeks from Thanksgiving till now.

While we don't provide medical diagnoses or prescriptions here on Connect, what we can do is to put you in touch with others who have gone through similar situations to provide support and share their own experiences and learnings. Please meet @mrsno @xtinapear30 @logan615 @american @airey2 @3les54. @merpreb also may have some input.

Do you believe you are bleeding enough that you need immediate medical attention? If so, please visit your local ER. If you think it's manageable for the present, have you had the chance to report what you are experiencing to your general practitioner?
