Risedronate side effects

Has anyone had a side effect of balance problems or dizziness when taking Risedronate? If so, how long after starting it did the symptoms start? Thank you.

I had been taking Risedronate weekly for a month beginning in May '26, when I stopped. I was awakened from a deep sleep by an intense pain running up my right leg from my heel to the crest at the top of my pelvis. Soon after it subsided I experienced a severe headache on the left side of my face from the top of my head to the base of my mandible. Knowing the side effects of bisphosphonates this experience really scared me.
I have been taking Letrozole since September '25 and never had a side effect like that. I stopped the Risedronate and have not experienced either of those sensations since. A couple of weeks ago I let my endocrinologist know I had stopped taking the Risedronate. She agreed with my stopping it. I found an online medication that helps strengthen bones. The endocrinologist said she had patients who were taking that with good results. I have not begun taking that supplement yet because I want to finish some of the OTCs I have already been taking and avoid not taking too much of some of the minerals/vitamins that I am already taking. Doing the research and figuring this all out according to daily requirements is certainly a challenge and quite time consuming.

Hi there,
I was very, very interested to read your question regarding Risedronate, balance problems and dizziness. It would be good to know if you have had any answers to this, if you have undertaken any research into these problems.
My wife is taking Risedronate 35 mg once a week and has been experiencing these very problems and we are trying to find out if Risedronate is the culprit.
Many thanks in advance
