Restore libido in 76 year old male

Posted by laughlin1947 @laughlin1947, Nov 25, 2023

How do I restore my now-zero male libido, 76 yr old male in good health? it has lasted 2 to 3 years now. No vitamins, injections, or other non-surgical attempts have been successful. Suggestions? Is vascular surgery the only option to combat ED?

The idea of 6 weeks of pain following the implant surgery is a bit disconcerting to me.

You can’t handle 6 weeks of discomfort in order to regain your best buddies function? I’m 71 and don’t have the issue for the most part. Due to my chronic back pain and PN I sometimes cannot climax but I can function. T-levels were super and no libido problems. We are all different.

Yes, I could do that, sustain some lower level of penile pain. It would seem odd to have a constant erection. My biggest complaint is total loss of libido. I don't know how or why that progressed to this point over a couple of years, but I've got to see a specialist to figure it out. It's very distressing to my wife, but we've been married 28 years, so I don't think she's going to walk out the door over this.

I recommend you look up Dr. Rena Malik on YouTube who is a urologists and urology surgeon with many videos available for free on your subject matter. You may need to search her numerous videos to find the correct one.

Hi. I, too, have researched the difference between function and desire. I think libido lies in hormones. Or chemicals that are released in the body when the idea of sex is imminent. I am no doctor. But I do some reading and use myself as a testing mat. Lotta brain work this sex thing. Also focuses on ones standard of beauty. On one's dominance of the sexual partner. Etc... etc... etc. Yeah there are pharmaceuticals you can take. And natural supplements also. But you have to be able to know, yourself, what turns you on. I do feel in a slump sometimes when it comes to sex. But after ten days or so, if one still feels no sex drive. But has the apparatus to deal. Go see your psych doctor. No insult intended. My key is having several wives. Here in the African country I live in, that's legal. In America the other wound be your girl friend. Perhaps I have gone too far we this answer. Chew on that my friend. Talk another time.

If it is a hormone thing that prevents libido, the maybe a visit to an endocrinologist would be wise for me.

My wife is ill. How are you coping the lack of physical attention that a healthy man desires/deserves?

I have no easy answers for you. You are likely much younger than my 76 years of age, but I have battled erectile dysfunction for many years, maybe 10 or more. Then, I had periods of experiencing lower and lower libido that then went away altogether for no apparent reason. I'm not overweight, do not drink, not a smoker, no heavy meds, etc. Doctors have not been helpful. Since I have no sex drive, I'm not really missing anything except for wishing I could find a way to restore it, for my sake and my wife's. She's not very understanding.
As for you, you must wait it out until your wife has recovered, and in the meantime resort to masturbation, with or without porn, or abstain altogether. I don't think there is any other way to cope with it. I'm very sorry for your dilemma, and I hope to God your wife recovers very soon. Hearty exercise may help offset some of your sexual energy.

I'm having a Coloplast Titan penile implant on Monday, 12/18. When it's not in use, your penis is flaccid, and you wouldn't know it was there. At least that's what I anticipate, given all I've read and heard. I'm not looking forward to the initial pain, but my wife is happy that my 6 year stint of serious ED is soon going to be over. Me too.

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many. Look around you!

Thanks for the very specific information. I'm waiting for my next move, either an implant operation, hypnosis, or hormonal specialist. So, I think I've got to go down that path until I eliminate the possibilities for my problem . I can't understand how my libido flipped off like a light switch was thrown, but that is where it has left me for now.
