Restore libido in 76 year old male

Posted by laughlin1947 @laughlin1947, Nov 25, 2023

How do I restore my now-zero male libido, 76 yr old male in good health? it has lasted 2 to 3 years now. No vitamins, injections, or other non-surgical attempts have been successful. Suggestions? Is vascular surgery the only option to combat ED?

I gave up at 66; it just seems hopeless to even try to be appealing.

But I know there new medications that are being evaluated, may be even commercialized by now, that could help. One is a a CBD gummy product. Not sure if I believe their claims of success, however. There's an external gel that can be applied to the outside of the penis to get an erection. There's a suppository that can be inserted into the tip of the penis before sex that results in an erection. And, like I say new meds too.

I have the same problem but my condition is complicated because of Peyronies (curvature of the Penis). I am 80 years of age and also in good health. I still have enough sexual desire that, if I get the surgery to repair the Peyronies, will I have sufficient Libido to perform? I’ll be interested in following this discussion and thanks for sharing .

I have slight Peyronies as well. But I think I need to get an x-ray to determine if I have some sort of arterial partial blockage in my penis, and to see, if that is operated on, will it restore blood flow such that I can an erection again. I think if I could return to having normal erections, my libido would return. I'm still not wanting any penile implants. Those result in a constant erection from what I've read. Also, the option of inserting an inflatable bladder that could be pumped up to form an erection is not to my liking either.

Hi. I just had my implant August 2023. By now I am wondering why I did not get it few years back. After the initial 6 weeks of pain easing down to discomfort, this apparatus in my body works well. To each their own, but you would be wise to reconsider. I won't say more.

The idea of 6 weeks of pain following the implant surgery is a bit disconcerting to me.

Hi. I, too, have researched the difference between function and desire. I think libido lies in hormones. Or chemicals that are released in the body when the idea of sex is imminent. I am no doctor. But I do some reading and use myself as a testing mat. Lotta brain work this sex thing. Also focuses on ones standard of beauty. On one's dominance of the sexual partner. Etc... etc... etc. Yeah there are pharmaceuticals you can take. And natural supplements also. But you have to be able to know, yourself, what turns you on. I do feel in a slump sometimes when it comes to sex. But after ten days or so, if one still feels no sex drive. But has the apparatus to deal. Go see your psych doctor. No insult intended. My key is having several wives. Here in the African country I live in, that's legal. In America the other wound be your girl friend. Perhaps I have gone too far we this answer. Chew on that my friend. Talk another time.

had the malleable implant due to age and health issues . .. never even took the first pain pill simple operation compared to the inflatable .. pain lasts about 6 months to a year as you body gets used to it .. but 6 weeks average before they want you to use it .. for the most part I cannot feel that I'm implanted ... only when you get in a position that your penis is in a bind then it feels like a young man's erection trapped in his underwear .. but the plus side you are erect all the time so it's ready to use .. mine is a Rigicon brand which folds downward a 135 degrees so it is simple to hide unless you are built like a porn star ..
