Repatha side effects not believed
Repatha for 16 months and results are amazing however, leg pain, calf pain, started 3-4 ago.
Sore, stiffness in thighs and calves.
I won't mind so much but my doctor insists it is NOT related to medication.
I have statin intolerance, my blood work with geno test shows this.
Why does my doctor not believe me when I say I'm having leg pain suddenly after no other apparent reason?
Am I crazy, am I wrong? 60yr old male with CAD, CAC score over 2k but no blockage all less then 70%, no chest pain.
We believe my 1 of 4 parathyroids, remove in 2001, caused calcium to enter blood was having very high serum calcium levels before being removed. Still have 3 parathyroids with not ill effects but damage has been done.
Can these side effect appear months later as mine have or I can it be something else?

Hello everyone: I have only been using Repatha for three months. Approximately two days after my second shot I developed diarrhea for about a day. Now about a day after my shot I start with the diarrhea but it is lasting four or five days. Is anyone else experiencing this side effect? Everything I have read makes no mention of gastrointestinal side effects. Thanks for any insight you have.

2 Reactionsgoldenjules, diarrhea is a common side effect with Repatha. It can last for two weeks, when you're due for your next injection. It has me hesitating. I'll look for a link,

1 Reactiongoldenjules, it doesn't seem to listed on the package insert.

In the clinical trial DESCARTES, diarrhea and gastroenteritis occurred in 3% of the patients on Repatha. Depending how long patients suffer from gastrointestinal problems they may have issues maintaining weight, and should see their doctor if this occurs.

1 ReactionI am still getting side effects such as fatigue, mild headaches, and dry eye. How long should I expect these side effects to last?
Welcome, @thekid1492
My understanding is the amount of drug left in your body is 50% at about 2 weeks, then mostly out of your body in 3 months. If you read through this an other discussions here on Connect about discontinuing Repatha you will read a number of folks that still have side effects.
How long did you take Repatha, and how long have you been off of it? Did your prescribing doctor have any thoughts?

1 ReactionI have been on Repatha for 2 1/2 years, and my brother for about 7 years. He swears by it and I don't think I have direct side effects from it. I do get tired a lot but I think that may be because I am 81. My cardiologist wanted my cholesterol way down and it has worked. I have also been on the anticoagulant, Brilinta for the same amount of time. The reason is that I have 3 stents in my LAD artery.

2 ReactionsWell I left a comment that being on Repatha for 3 months did not affect me. Boy was I wrong. I stopped taking Repatha because of my back pain, headaches & thigh pin. I cannot tolerate statins but I have to take something. My doctor suggested Rosuvstatin every other day so I will try this.

Hope Rosuvastatin works for you. I looked up the side effects, and he could probably worsen a lot of existing health problems for me. With no statins and no Repatha,
Due to side effects, I do not know what I can safely try.
