Recommendations on specific clinics for long COVID

Posted by kentkemmerling1949 @kentkemmerling1949, Oct 27, 2023

I am totally frustrated with the options for getting treated for Long COVID. I have been unable to basically walk since Jan. 2021 and have tried everything I can think of to improve with no help. I know long COVID is a new disease and there is not much known about it, but I am ready to try anything. I tried getting many, many tests, a ton of physical therapy and nothing has helped. I think it has to do with my inner ear and when I get stuffed up, my balance gets even worse. Any suggestions and specific recommendations on doctor or clinics to try???

My doc said the same thing when I first went to him telling what I felt in my body.I then realized I'd HAVE to do some personal research if I had any hope of getting better.I found Dr Paul Anderson on Youtube. He's the real deal on covid and multitudes of other kinds of things medical.Check him out. This isn't some crock.Cells are damaged.Systems are affected. He's helped me so much over the last 2-3 years.STILL watch his covid videos and such.He KNOWS what he's doing.

Need guidance. My wife had 1 covid vaccine 2.5 years ago. 6 months later she had stroke like symptoms but no stroke. Her symptoms are light headed, brain fog, tumors, left side body tingling, extreme tiredness, head pressure and racing heart. We have seen many doctors including neurologist with no diagnosis or treatment. They say it’s made up but they have witnessed the tumors. We believe this could be long COVID or vaccine related. We are looking for a doctor who isn’t afraid to diagnose that if that is it and treat if possible. We live in southern IN but will travel if need. Any advice?

I've gone through the same thing here in Iowa. This week I found ChatGPT. It is an app for Android or ioS, or you can just pull it up in your browser.

Ask it questions like you would ask a doctor. Add every single symptom and any lab results you have.

It will formulate information you can use in a format that will help your doctors take notice.

It is so frustrating that we get blown off. It's because doctors don't know what to do about it. It affects multiple body systems so that is why you have to go to all these different doctors and they don't talk to each other.

If you can swing it financially, you may get some help from a functional medicine practitioner. I am leery of them because they are mostly chiropractors, but you might have access in a larger city to an actual doctor who will attempt to treat your wife. They're usually not covered under insurance.

Help for these symptoms is usually found in multiple places. There's no set protocol that works for everyone.

Mine has been so bad for almost 3 years that finally some labs showed another condition unrelated to long COVID. You might try not mentioning long COVID as a lot of people don't believe it exists. Then just tell them your symptoms. Hopefully you will get a workup that will identify any areas that can be treated.

Sorry you guys are going through this. I've been in bed most of the time completely debilitated from it.

Thanks
Why it's so difficult for docs, simply say yes it could be covid we Don't have a cure YET but we are working on it.
It would be somewhat a relief just acknowledging it

I have been suffering from long Covid for more than two years (worst symptom is extreme fatigue) and have been to two acupuncturists. Several sessions with needles and expensive herbal medicines and no improvement whatsoever. LC is a viral phenomenon which Chinese medicine is not equipped to treat, and a lot of these people are money-sucking quacks. I advise you give it up.

@annlandi, you're quite right that with alternative and integrative medicine, one should be aware of the risks and benefits, as well as the qualification of the practitioner.

To all:
There is increasing acceptance and evidence to support the use of Integrative Medicine, in particular to reduce sypmtoms. Integrative medicine is a term used for health care practices that traditionally haven't been part of conventional medicine. In many cases, as evidence of safety and effectiveness grows, these therapies are being combined with conventional medicine. Read more from Mayo Clinic here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/complementary-alternative-medicine/about/pac-20393581

When considering integrative health approaches, it’s important to take charge of your health by being an informed consumer. Find out and consider what scientific studies have been done on the safety and effectiveness of the product or practice that interests you. Be wary of products or practices claiming immediate or drastic effects. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I understand how you feel. As I’ve been to countless docs (even Mayo) and no one takes my LC issues seriously. I initially started with heart issues but 3.5 years later I am dealing with muscle wasting and atrophy, some twitching all over body. No one has answers for this. But I would still recommend Dr Jordan Vaughn in Alabama. He’s the only doc I can comfortably talk about vax injury and believed. He’s one of 3 or 4 doc that testifies to the gov hearings about impacts of vax injury and one of the only ones I’ve seen willing to prescribe what he can to try off label. He’s also ran lab panels that my general pcp won’t even help me with. It’s so frustrating out here.

Seriously-same. My own daughters that know how weak I have been for over a year think it is in my head. I sure hope they don’t experience this. I noticed that the docs- neurologist- call it post covid now. Maybe that is easier for people to believe since it indicates COVID causing something else. One of my daughters says you can’t have a virus for over a year. We know differently, don’t we

If you want a doctor that can help you, google Dr Paul Anderson.Amazing man, excellent CLEAR info on what's possibly going on...highly Recommend.Been following his covid blogs now for around 3-4 years. There are so many options to get being well. He's amazing.Ever since I started following him,I've slowly gotten better...today I feel pretty darn stable and good. The symptoms have virtually ended...little brain fog at times, but getting WAY better.Pain?almost gone from stomach.Small amount pops up every once in a while, but it's manageable. It doesn't last but a little while.I would recommend him specifically. And it's FREE.I tell ya...he knows all about this long covid...and what can be done about it.Check him out.You won't be disappointed. He's amazing.Take care and God Bless you and yours.

My boss thought I was trying to ditch work I think.I'd go in,and become so anxiety driven my whole body would react.I'd have to leave.(cashier dealing with public and the feeling like I was gonna just fall apart or something. This happened quite few times.I had dropped 30 lbs.I told her finally..."Look at me,do I look fine?"She FINALLY began to realize I wasn't bluffing. That was a big relief actually. But as far as other people saying 'it's in your head'...I just say...hope to God YOU don't get this...You won't like it!My doctor knew nothing about long covid. So I KNEW I was gonna have to take the reins.I found Dr Paul Anderson on youtube one day...he just clicked with me.I felt hopeful for the first time in my sickness.I had to take lorazepam for a couple of weeks to get through my strong reactions to stress.Which my present doctor prescribed for me.She was very good about listening to what I was going through...so she worked with me.I did the asking for medications...she would say..okay...let's try that then. Now I'm feeling good most of the time.VERY LITTLE symptoms now.I feel for all of you.I could care less what others think about covid.I know that's what I have(had). My body is repairing nicely now.Was it because of his treatments?Or just at the end of this ugly thing.I don't know...but I'm doing what he suggested.Could be his advice?IDK.But I truly feel 'almost' there....
